“Women on Death Row” follows the crimes, the trials, the appeals, and the lives of the select few women in America sentenced to the death penalty. Each episode focuses on the journey of one woman, exploring the details of the crime committed, the trial process leading to conviction, the sentencing rationale, and in some cases the appeals process. This docuseries tactfully explores and translates the legal processes associated with the death penalty and death row, and the continued relationships of these women with people “on the outside.”

Launched in September 2023, our Women’s Services Map (www.WomensServicesMap.com) is a transformative directory that helps to link women with the holistic, gender-specific, trauma-informed support they need. We believe it is a valuable and critical resource for improving the outcomes for women and girls in contact with the criminal justice system.   The directory currently includes over 75 women’s centres, 270 specialist services and 12 women’s prisons and provides direct referral routes and opportunities for women to access the vital and specialist support services they need when they leave prison and resettle into their local communities.   Users can search for their local women’s centres and services using an interactive map, postcode search, or by filtering services by organisation or specialism.   The development and launch of the Women’s Services Map has been generously funded by members of the Corston Independent Funder's Coalition (CIFC).   Are you a UK-based, female-focused organisation that would like to be added to the Women’s Services Map? Police brutality is a pervasive issue that affects women in profound ways. Having witnessed its devastating impact firsthand, I can attest to the grim outcomes it brings. Beyond physical violence, police brutality encompasses neglect, demeaning words, policies, and actions that strip away dignity and inflict psychological and sexual harm. This insidious problem extends beyond direct encounters with law enforcement. Women experience it vicariously through media reports or within their own social circles. It permeates our environments, making heavily policed areas especially daunting. It's time to acknowledge and address this systemic injustice. As we strive for a more equitable society, we must amplify the voices of those affected and demand accountability. #PoliceBrutality #WomensRights #JusticeForAll

The Government has rejected calls for a legal definition of honour-based abuse. It claims it’s not clear that a statutory definition would improve understanding of, or the response to, these crimes. This is disappointing news. A statutory definition would recognise the severity of this crime, raise awareness, and bring more perpetrators to justice. It would also go a long way to help police officers and other front-line agencies record incidents of honour-based abuse accurately and consistently. And, importantly, it would support those most at risk, which tends to be ethnic minority women. The Government must reconsider its response to this report.
