I presented at this conference with my colleague Emma Wokowu discussing about Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub’s experiences and lessons learned in implementing safeguarding at different hubs. Key messages include 1. Safeguarding is not a one-off activity, it’s not a one-off training event to tick a box 2. It is important to contextualise safeguarding resources and materials 3. Safeguarding contextualisation takes time and it is not a one person activity left to only the focal person 4. Safeguarding implementation requires funds. Risk sssessment and mitigation plans have to be planned properly for in the workplan and budgeted for 5. Playing the blame game against the implementing partner when an incident happens doesn’t build capacity 6. Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility including the INGOs, implementing partners, donors
The ARC Hub and Digna program were both born out of the sector’s desire to address and explore several thought-provoking questions concerning key issues. These have given rise to the key themes of our conference! Stay tuned for the detailed agenda and description of each session! REGISTER NOW: https://lnkd.in/eeJe5fhz

In the world of scientific research, collaboration is more than just a buzzword; it's the driving force behind transformative breakthroughs. 🌟 At the Alliance, we firmly believe that collaboration is the cornerstone of progress in the battle against ALS/MND. In our global pursuit of finding a cure and improving the lives of those affected by this challenging disease, we've heard this time and time again from allied health professionals - like Wendy Abrams. ALS/MND is a complex puzzle. By bringing together experts, organizations and researchers from around the world, we can accelerate the pace of discovery. We can explore innovative research avenues, leading to potentially groundbreaking breakthroughs. ALS/MND knows no boundaries, and neither should our efforts to combat it. Collaboration gives us a global perspective, ensuring that research benefits patients everywhere. And by working together, we can ensure that research remains patient-centric. It's about improving the quality of life for those living with ALS/MND today, while striving for a future without it. Help us celebrate the power of collaboration and share your thoughts on how it's transforming the landscape of ALS/MND research. 🌍❤️ You can also join us at the Allied Professionals Forum, uniting delegates in the ALS/MND field from 40+ countries: December 4-5 in Basel, Switzerland, or online.
