I love volunteering and giving back - I always have. I love that our team gives back personally to organizations we individually support and I love that our Company supports many non-profit organizations. One of the first corporate awards I received, and still cherish, is the one I was given for hours of volunteer service. If you think it takes a ton of time or you have to be a super volunteer to have meaningful impact, don't! Even a once a year volunteer project can have a huge impact on any organization. Legacy motivations: fascinating. But do we think deep enough about motivations for OUR charity. Umbrella bodies such as Stewardship in UK, CAF and community foundations are unique (I started CFs in U.K. and they are fascinating BUT different) Overseas charity motivations so different to hospices. Universities and heritage very similar. Local charities generally different. Religious are different too and why do I notice 23 U.K. Christian charities all have hope as a vision? The legacy vision must closely match the legacy ambitions of each prospect and there is not one answer. Let’s be more tangible and creative.
