💰 Struggling to price your SaaS application that uses AI and PAYG services? This post is for you! 📉 When pricing SaaS applications with AI and PAYG services using a monthly subscription model, it's crucial to consider the impact of variable costs, as unlimited usage from users can eat into your profits. 🤖 Rate-limiting your services can help manage costs and prevent unexpected spikes in usage. By implementing rate limits, you can ensure a predictable experience for users and control expenses, especially when leveraging AI models like OpenAI's GPT-4. ⭐ The best approach is to identify the cost of each type of request your SaaS application handles. If each request varies in cost, limit the maximum size of the input, allowing you to calculate the maximum cost for the request. 🚧 After breaking down the cost of each request, work backward from your desired monthly subscription amount to figure out how many requests you can offer while maintaining your desired profit margin. If you can't provide sufficient requests for your subscription amount, consider raising prices or finding a cheaper alternative.
