🌟 In our latest member spotlight, Dahabo Ahmed-Omer, the CEO of BlackNorth Initiative, emphasizes the importance of building momentum and narrowing diversity gaps. Since the organization's launch in 2020, they have tirelessly worked towards uplifting and empowering Black communities by addressing systemic barriers and advocating for increased representation in leadership roles. Thank you for an insightful and thought provoking session Keith Fraser on inclusive leadership. As a business who puts workforce empowerment at the heart of everything we do, I think its vital we look at how we get the best out of our own teams. For me, the idea that we have the solutions to many challenges within our own staff really resonated. We don't always need to look externally to resolve issues, sometimes people power is what counts most of all. Unlocking the potential of our staff is the key, and as leaders we need to reflect on our role in how that is achieved. I for one know I am not the finished article, and welcome the benefit of others' experience. We should never stop looking to learn or improve. As soon as we do, we have doomed ourselves to failure. Thank you to The Workforce Development Trust for making time for us to explore these ideas. Its so hard to get time when you're in the throes of delivery, but so vital we consider these aspects when looking to achieve our objectives. #InclusiveLeadership #PersonalDevelopment #NationalInclusionWeek

Over 50% of FTSE 100s stated that socio-economic diversity was a key consideration when hiring new board members and interviews have shown that board members do understand the benefits of diversity on the decision making process. Why then do 99% of FTSE 100s still not publish any data on socio-economic diversity at board level? This interesting article looks at some of the challenges associated with meausuring socio-economic divdersity and explores what can be done to ensure that this is a key focus for boards going forward.

There is a lot of deserved woke and DEI pushback. Google's recent AI release is making the conversation more politicized. I personally am committed to diversity and am unashamed. The threshold is really simple per the Rooney rule developed in the NFL. They required at least one candidate of color to be interviewed for each coaching job. That seems like a pretty light lift. For Bonbon we want to make sure that every senior level position we make sure that we consider at least one woman or person of color. It is a small step that allows us to look beyond our immediate periphery for candidates that statistically produce better business outcomes. Yes diversity is good for business and it is proven to drive better business growth and enterprise value. https://lnkd.in/gT9dGShj
