Exhibition || Josh Smith David Zwirner is pleased to present an exhibition of Josh Smith's new paintings at the gallery's premises in Paris. Marking Smith's first solo exhibition in the French capital since 2009, the showcase follows the artist's two previous solo exhibitions with David Zwirner: Ghosts (2020), held simultaneously at the gallery's premises in London and East 69th Street, New York; and Emo Jungle (2019), which spanned three New York City gallery spaces on 19th Street. Smith also curated High as Fuck, an external exhibition in conjunction with the gallery, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In the spring of 2023, Smith launched Studio News 2 on David Zwirner Online, featuring new hand-drawn forms that builds on the artist's signature paintings of sunsets and palm trees in shared tropical locations. WERRI ROCKPOOLS Solo Exhibition by Alisa Beak 13 - 26 May 2024 - Open Daily from 10am Through the lens of a camera to capture the initial inspiration, Alisa's current exhibition showcases the beauty of our local rock pools. The unconventional shapes and vibrant hues found within these pools become a source of inspiration for the artist, resulting in unique compositions. In search of the soft morning light, which has the remarkable ability to enhance the depth and intricacy of the subject, the images taken are then transformed to a painterly quality on canvas. Each visit to a new location sparks a sense of anticipation and excitement, as the artist tries to capture the ineffable essence that can only be perceived and interpreted internally. The allure of sourcing materials is difficult to put into words, but it is undeniably tangible and distinct. This interpretation of reality depends greatly on one's perspective, transcending the limitations and predictability of the world. It is as if a sheer curtain is lifted, allowing Alisa to catch a glimpse of an ideal and awe-inspiring reality. In that moment, worldly desires, expectations, and worries fade away. The environment in which Alisa chooses to work holds her attention with its unique colour palette and artistic style, reflecting her core purpose of preserving memories.

Artist, Designer, Creative Consultant "The heart is the perfection of the whole organism. Therefore the principles of the power of perception and the souls ability to nourish itself must lie in the heart." Aristotle
What does “#Mixed #Media” mean? In visual art, “Mixed Media” describes #artwork in which more than one #medium or #material has been employed. During the creative exploration stage, #Artists usually experiment with many alternatives, to find the most appropriate combinations to represent their experiences. This series of images, called “Table Talk”, combines watercolour and ink on paper. The Toronto gallery director/curator of the exhibition, referred to these large scale sketches as "The Arms and Legs". He looked closely at the outlined objects, and invented his own personal narratives. Table Talk 01: “What were they arguing about?” #Creativity is Activity. #Focus on the #process. #Rapt #Pact #Daily #Create #Habit #Indistractable

#VelvenoirInsights Continuing the conversation with Carlotta and Alexandra, today we wanted to share another Q&A with you on the following... C: Art collectors, at every stage in their collecting journey, have different needs. How do you assist them and how do you select the artists to present them? In addition, what would you advise collectors to consider when acquiring new works? A: For us, every client is unique and so is our collaboration. I guess coming from a hospitality background this has been our approach since day one. Everything starts with a personal conversation, where we ask questions, listen and try to understand our clients. And then we work from there. All in all, every project is highly personal, and every time we find ourselves dealing with new challenges and perspectives. As for advice for collectors, I have three tips that to me are fundamental, especially for “beginner art collectors”. 💬First of all, buy what you love, what speaks to you, and what you are most drawn to when encountering the work of an artist. You should also consider if the techniques the artist uses and the messages or drives behind the work speak to you and connect to you on a personal level. 💬On top of that, it is also fundamental to do some research about the artist and their work. Look for their CV, what galleries represent them, in which collections their work can be found, and what future projects or exhibitions they have planned, especially if they are big international events. 💬And lastly, on a more technical note, the most important tip, in my opinion, is to always ask for a signed Certificate of Authenticity when acquiring artworks. Also, make sure you get a certificate not only from the gallery from which you buy the work but also from the artist as a separate document. This is fundamental both for your collection and for future ventures. If you have any questions on the above, feel free to reach out to us anytime. #Weareatyourservice #velvenoir #insights #artconsultant #contemporaryart #artcollecting #artcollector #kunstsammeln #artcollectingtip #kunst #tiponartcollecting #kunstberatung #artconsultancy

Helping anxious professionals and overthinkers gain freedom and clarity. DM me to book an anxiety relief call today!
In galleries and museums –dedicated temples of art — the viewing context makes a huge difference. 1. We step into the world of the artist and gallery owner. We are immediately and unconsciously hit by the placement of the paintings, the gallery’s walls, the lighting, and the furniture. 2. We feel a magic in this experience — the hush of the gallery, the texture of a painting under our fingertips, and the actual physical presence afforded by the sheer closeness with the art object itself. 3. We soak up the ambiance and embraced the total experience. 4. Now, we’re experiencing online art viewing. Which do you like best. Online viewing where you can scroll by dozens of images or in person viewing at a gallery, museum, or art show. I’m taking a poll. Answer Online or Inperson

As long as the work of art remains is important. Museums can debate. They can go to court about who owns what. In the end, where is the art. What wall hangs the work, or is it put into storage. Collectors might own the work, but where is the work itself? You might own it, but do we see it? #artgallery #artcollection #arthistory #artconsultant #artmuseum #seeing #learning #create https://lnkd.in/e-NgsXy3
