On my way to judge a coffee competition, and I’m reminded of how vital community is in our industry. Competitions like these aren’t just about showcasing skills—they’re about bringing people together, sharing knowledge, and supporting each other’s growth. As someone who has competed, coached, judged, and trained judges, I’ve seen firsthand the impact of a strong, supportive community. The coffee community thrives on collaboration and mutual support. Events like this allow us to celebrate our craft, learn from one another, and push the boundaries of what we can achieve. It’s inspiring to see so many passionate individuals come together. Supporting these competitionsl is crucial, not just by joining to gain something, but by truly contributing to the industry. Year after year, we see people come and go, but those who understand the importance of giving back consistently put in the time and effort.
