Looking forward to a very International finish to 2023, hope to see you at one or more of these events. Few industries have as many global connections as vertical aviation. Our manufacturers ship their aircraft to buyers around the world, and many pilots travel to other countries for initial and follow-on flight training. Operators and maintenance organizations compete for contracts all over the world, and changes to standard procedures or regulations by one civil aviation authority can have ripple effects around the world. #aam #helicopters #helicopterpilot #vertiport #uam #aviationsafety #aviationindustry #vertiports #safetyculture #army #aircraftmaintenance #airforce #navy #marinecorps #coastguard #icao #easa #faa #departmentoftransportation #workforcedevelopment #pilots #mechanic #easa #faa #caa #helicopterpilot #helicopter #aam #uam #army #airforce #marines #navy #coastguard #evtol #advancedairmobility

𝕋𝕦𝕡𝕠𝕝𝕖𝕧 𝕋𝕦-𝟙𝟜𝟜 The Tu-144, also known as the Concordski due to its similarity to the Anglo-French Concorde, was a supersonic airliner developed by the Soviet Union in the 1960s. The video shows the Tu-144 "RA-77820" taking off from Skiathos Airport in Greece on May 25, 2024. This particular aircraft is one of two Tu-144s that still exist in flying condition and has been used for carry out demonstration and charter flights in recent years. It was an innovative aircraft in its time, capable of reaching speeds of up to 2,300 kilometers per hour (Mach 2). However, its development was plagued by technical problems and accidents, and only 36 examples were built. The Tu-144 program was finally canceled in 1978 after the deaths of 144 people in a plane crash during an air show in France. Despite its short lifespan, the Tu-144 remains a symbol of the Soviet Union's technological ambition during the Cold War. Its elegant design and ability to exceed the speed of sound make it a fascinating piece of aviation history. As of my knowledge, the Tu-144 is currently being utilized as a flying lab in corporate research, particularly with NASA. Tu-144 differs from Concorde by having a canard (foreplane), which looks like a mustache!! My notes concerning the original post are: 1- Sure the date of travel is wrong as May 25, 2024, is the next week 2- Also, the afterburner should be on during takeoff, which is not shown 3- The takeoff distance and duration are much larger than what is shown on YouTube.

The U.S. military is exploring the use of high-altitude balloons and other systems in partnership with regional allies in the Pacific. In a recent video, new Pacific-focused military units discussed their efforts to test and develop high-altitude balloons and other advanced technologies in collaboration with partner nations in the region. The goal is to enhance regional security and situational awareness through these innovative capabilities. The video highlights how these units are working with local partners to conduct test flights of high-altitude balloons and evaluate their potential for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance purposes. They are also exploring other emerging technologies that could provide a shared regional advantage. The focus on regional partnerships and testing of new systems reflects the growing strategic importance of the Pacific theater and the U.S. military's efforts to strengthen its capabilities and relationships in the region. This aligns with broader efforts to enhance deterrence and maintain a competitive edge in the face of evolving global challenges. #PacificDefense #RegionalSecurity #EmergingTechnology #USMilitary #InternationalPartnerships

This photo, from a booklet of “Concorde Facts” highlights some of the advantages of Concorde. ✈️ This graph comparing a flight to the US on Concorde and a flight to the US in a subsonic jet shows how the difference in flight time actually splits up into in-flight activity for the passenger. 📸BAE Systems
