🔥 Volkswagen is recalling over 307,000 SUVs in North America - Safety First. The problem? Faulty wiring in the airbag sensor. March 2023 for 143,000 vehicles with similar issues Why This Matters The reason for the recall is a potential wiring fault in the passenger occupant detection system (PODS). This wiring issue may deactivate the front passenger air bags when the seat is occupied, creating a significant safety risk in the event of a crash. Volkswagen, in their statement, mentioned that this decision was taken "out of an abundance of caution,” to ensure the safety of the vehicle's occupants.
