Last week, I was honored to attend the inaugural AA&NHPI Economic Summit, hosted by Secretary Yellen of U.S. Department of the Treasury, representing EY. We discussed the economic landscape of the AA&NHPI community, the administration’s commitment to invest and empower through various economic policies, and practical challenges such as data disaggregation, access, reach - as well as the role private sector can play to bridge the gaps. It was particularly inspiring listening to Acting Secratay of Labor Julie Su and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Treasury Sandra Lee - their passion and dedication in creating an equitable environment through policy, and cultivating the next generation of AA&NHPI leaders. Representation matters. And… friendship and connections were made. Special shoutout to Sahil Rahman, Nisha Ramachandran, Jacqueline Burgette, DMD, PhD, and Varun Nikore for inspiring me with your work and leadership in building and lifting up the community. I left the Summit deeply inspired and motivated. Proud of this community, recognizing more work we can and should do to #buildabetterworkingworld. #AANHPIHeritageMonth #DEI #diversity #EY #representationmatters
