The Vortex Pillar in Verden, a small town in northern Germany, is an interactive sculpture created by Balázs Kicsiny. It features a hand crank that visitors can turn to create intricate water flow patterns inside the pillar. 🎥: Valeri Sytnik • #art #design #sculpture #vortex #artwork #deutschland #verden #germany #creative

This interactive feature is interesting and could be a good source of power for street furniture such as lamps and the like, even though I'm sure it doesn't generate much energy. Still, I like how it uses street furniture to promote play-based social interaction between guests and locals.

I can’t count on both hands how many times we would have gotten ran over as kids attempting this thing! 🤣

Interactive designs are always worth including where you can. It is such a fun way to get people interested, activated and relating to their surroundings.
