💙 AqVida donates to the volunteer fire department in Dassow: AqVida's Managing Director Wolfgang Heinze handed over the donation in the form of a rescue dummy to the local fire department at the beginning of June. 🚒 Rescue workers can use the dummy to simulate rescues and emergency situations. 💙 Niccolo (20), Alessandro (13) and Sammy (28) are among nearly 100 children & young adults with #Progeria across the world who are benefitting from the life-extending, FDA-approved lonafarnib drug. PRF will continue to devote funds to ensure access to lonafarnib for all, and to study its long-term effects. But we won’t stop there. PRF is exploring 3 other therapeutic pathways to treat and cure Progeria, attacking this disease: at the Protein, at the RNA and at the DNA levels. 💙 Donate here: https://bit.ly/OPTeamPRF 💙 The Progeria Research Foundation is dedicated to making sure all children & young adults with Progeria have a bright future. Thanks to YOU, PRF continues to make a dramatic impact on the length and quality of life for those with Progeria. #RareDiseaseDay is a critical day of awareness in medicine, serving as a platform for organizations like ours to raise awareness about often overlooked conditions that require further research and attention. G2MC is currently working to support children with undiagnosed rare disorders, particularly in low-resource settings where access to proper treatment may be limited. Through the Rare Diseases pilot project funded by RTW Charitable Foundation, we were able to conduct exome sequencing for 18 trios (patients and two family members) at six clinical sites in countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Chile, Malaysia, and South Africa. The project is now expanding to reach approximately 5000 patients annually for over three years across more than 20 sites worldwide, with a focus on low and middle-income countries. Each site has the autonomy to develop tailored workflows and clinical practices that suit their local context, with resources allocated for capacity building as needed. It is absolutely critical to include underrepresented populations in #genomics research to enhance the diversity of databases and potentially uncover more variants of significance in these groups. This is where you can help. A donation enables us to continue projects such as this one and so much more. Please consider supporting GGMC and its programs by giving online at globalgenomics.org/donate We appreciate your support! #RareDisease

Help rogue cell research get us closer to a cure! Our new research project with Oxford University, aims to unlock vital answers about the immune response in coeliac disease and get us one step closer to a cure. This vital research needs your support to get off the ground. Thanks to generous donations so far, the appeal has raised over £53,000 for research already, and match funding has doubled this to £106,000 which takes us closer to our target of £250,000 for this three year project. If you’ve donated already, thank you. If not, there’s still time to help. Funding for research into coeliac disease is significantly lower than it is for some other autoimmune or gut related conditions – despite the fact that coeliac disease affects nearly 700,000 people in the UK. So, Coeliac UK is forced to rely heavily on public donations to fund research projects like this. This is why donations are so important. We can only conduct this research with your support. For more information and to donate, visit: https://bit.ly/4bQuspc #AutoImmuneDisease #AutoimmuneUK #CoeliacUK #CoeliacDisease #Charity #Research #ResearchAppeal

Our The Engage Partnership Recruitment sweepstake is truly under way! ⚽️ But with a little twist… We’ve each picked 2 teams for ourselves and then 1 for charity - for 6 charities. Sadly, I don’t think I have a chance of winning with Belgium and Denmark, but I’m remaining hopeful ☹️ But more importantly, I wanted to raise a little awareness about the few charities we’ve chosen 👇 💳 BILLYCHIP CIC - An innovative charity which provides a secure way of directly donating to homeless people via the use of chips. These chips can then be exchanged for food or drink. 🎗️Endometriosis UK - This is a personal charity to me, after life-changing (for me at least) surgery 5 years ago, I got my Endometriosis diagnosed and removed. With the lack of research into women’s health and understanding how such conditions come about, charities like Endometriosis UK provide advice, challenge the healthcare space, and support communities across the UK. 🫀 British Heart Foundation - BHF fund medical research for all things related to the heart and circulatory disease. Their work is aimed at shaping public policy and raising awareness. 👶 Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity - A leading medical provider which provides support for seriously ill children. It’s in fact one of the UK’s largest paediatric centres covering all things heart, brain and gene therapy. 👣 Suicide Prevention UK Bristol - If you’re Bristol based, you’ve probably heard of them. They have a full volunteer-led patrol team which you may see around Bristol particularly around Clifton Suspension Bridge. 🌎 British Red Cross - The Red Cross helps all those in crisis, no matter where they are, or who they are. At the moment, you’ve probably seen them make the headlines for all the aid work they have been doing in the recent ongoing wars. #Euros2024 #Charity #TechRecruitment
