This whiskey has been brewed, distilled, and matured in Ireland since the 6th century! Originally a home-based industry, often hidden to avoid paying a hefty tax rate, its production was traditionally highly localized and small-scale until the Industrial Revolution during the 19th century. Smooth, soft and mellow with a silky mouthfeel, Irish Whiskey PGI offers a light and silky mouthfeel with flavors ranging from fruit to flowers, wood to honey. #EuropeanFoodStories #MoreThanFood #FarmToFork #EnjoyItsFromEurope #FoodandBeverageIndustry #WineandSpiritsIndustry #AlcoholIndustry

Thomas Shelby’s Favorite Drink: In the popular television series "Peaky Blinders," the character Thomas Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy, is often seen drinking whiskey. Interesting Facts about Irish Whiskey: 1. Oldest Licensed Distillery:The Old Bushmills Distillery in Northern Ireland is the oldest licensed distillery in the world, established in 1608. 2. Triple Distillation: Unlike other whiskies, which are often distilled twice, Irish whiskey is typically distilled three times, giving it a smoother finish. 3. Different Style: Irish whiskey is known for its smooth, light flavor with notes of honey, vanilla, and wood. This is partly due to the triple distillation process and the combination of malted and unmalted barley. 4. Types of Irish Whiskey:There are four main types - Single Malt, Single Grain, Single Pot Still, and Blended Irish Whiskey. 5. Revival:Irish whiskey has seen a resurgence in popularity over the last decade, with new distilleries opening and exports increasing significantly. Short History of Irish Whiskey: Irish whiskey has a storied history that dates back to the 12th century, when monks began distilling a spirit they referred to as "uisce beatha," Gaelic for "water of life." The process evolved over time, and by the 18th century, Irish whiskey was renowned globally. In the 19th century, Irish whiskey was the most popular spirit in the world. However, a series of unfortunate events in the 20th century, including Prohibition in the United States, trade wars, and competition from Scottish whisky, led to a dramatic decline. At its lowest point, only a few distilleries remained operational. However, the late 20th and early 21st centuries saw a renaissance in Irish whiskey production. Nowadays, it's once again celebrated worldwide for its quality and unique characteristics. #food #Irishwhiskey #uiscebeatha #evergreenhotel #hemaraj #beverage

A dram of whisky can be one of life’s wee pleasures, but have you ever thought - how many units of alcohol are in the glass? A single measure of Scotch (25ml) contains 1 unit of alcohol. It's recommended that you do not regularly exceed 14 units of alcohol a week. Can single-malt Scotch Whisky be used in cocktails? Yes, absolutely! While blended Scotch whisky has more commonly been used in cocktail mixing, single malt Scotch is a fantastic addition to a cocktail. A cocktail mixologist will use a range of mixers and ingredients, along with their skills in creating great taste combinations, to mix a longer drink that ensures Scotch Whisky’s craft and flavour profiles are allowed to shine through. Remember, cocktails should always be sipped and savoured, and you should pay attention to how many units of alcohol are included, as it can often be more than one.
