[Reflecting on My First Art Exhibition]
As I wrap up my first art expo, I'm taking a moment to appreciate the incredible journey it has been, full of valuable lessons and connections.
Meeting so many wonderful people has been a true highlight. Engaging with fellow artists, art enthusiasts, and supporters has been both inspiring and humbling. Your feedback and encouragement mean the world to me.
It has been an honour sharing my creations and the stories behind them with the public and I'm also grateful to share that a few pieces of my art have found new homes. It's a special feeling to know that my art resonates with others and becomes a part of their lives.
Here are five reflections and insights from this experience:
1️⃣ Your art is for you before it’s for anyone else, so remember that you’re not sharing it with the public for their approval.
2️⃣ Networking, like in any career, is essential! Share drinks, snacks and play some music to set a welcoming mood for your visitors. Hand out your cards, start a conversation. Invite galleries you’re interested in.
3️⃣ It’s YOU before the art. Share your passions, inspirations, and the journey behind each creation, and watch as your art resonates deeper with your viewers.
4️⃣ Teaming up with other artists for a shared space to work/exhibit, it helps grow your exposure, your influences and your circle of potential clients and friendships.
5️⃣ Yes, sales are wonderful, but not the only measure of success. So honestly don’t forget to celebrate every step of your first expo and everything that comes with it. And put the focus on building your name.
Thank you for being part of this wonderful adventure. I look forward to what the future holds for my art.
