are GMO crops safe to eat❓ 🕑 (2 min read) 1️⃣to start with studies 📖 and science 👨🔬, no proof for harmful effects on human health 🏥 as a result of consuming GMO crops 2️⃣second and most importantly, there is a FDA list of approved GMOs which includes 14 crops including main ones like Corn🌽, Soy 🫘, Potato 🥔, and Alfalfa ☘️. 3️⃣GMOs are bioengineered 🧬 varieties to resist insects 🦟, viruses 🦠, drought 🔥, and diseases 🧫. 4️⃣Without GMOs, it might be difficult or impossible to feed the world 🌍 Look at the photo below, the ancestor of corn 🌽 to the left, and the latest bioengineered variety to the right Corn alone, feeds directly 1.1 billion inhabitants worldwide (human and animal feed), and generates 44 billion dollars to farmers Invest and explore further in GMOs alternatives is the future, maybe Indigenous species that can adapt to climate change without bioengineering ???!!! 💭 #foodsecurity #foodsafety #foodandbeverageindustry #food #foodsector #knowledge #supplychainmanagement #supplychaininnovation #supplychainsolutions #supplychainresilience #foodsystems #foodsystem #climatechange #climateresilience #foodsystemstransformation #environment #renewableenergy #usa #africa #middleeast #wheat #oats #grains #shipping #seeds #shippingindustry #farms #naturalresources #management #transformation #indigenous #livelihoods #environment #greenhousegasemissions #trending #marketing #markets #farmers #farmer #foodjustice #foodproduction #foodproducts #biodiversity #ecosystem #africa #sustainability #sustainable

***NEWS*** The National Biosafety Authority in Kenya is set to release maize, cassava, and potato GMO varieties into the market after a pending court case. These crops aim to boost food security and reduce imports. Despite delays from legal challenges, NBA CEO Dr. Roy Mugiira emphasized the importance of these disease-resistant crops. Additionally, the NBA is developing other GM crops, including bananas and Irish potatoes, and addressing seed shortages for BT Cotton. Experts highlight that GMO products are safe and urge public acceptance. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dK7gfSzZ #GMOcrops #foodsecurity #agriculture #sustainability #bioinnovation

The real problem with golden rice is not any potential negative health impacts (no evidence that GMO foods are less healthy) or even the fact that big agricultural companies get to control the seeds (a real problem, but they can and do that anyway even without GMO). The real problem is that it’s absolutely mindbogglingly gobsmackingingly insane to me that we would seriously propose to solve malnutrition caused by a monoculture crop (over production of rice) by introducing a replacement monoculture crop?! We need to stop proposing insane solutions to manmade problems :-/ The solution is to get these kids some papayas and oranges to eat, not feeding them “golden rice” manufactured and controlled by big ag corporations. Food and energy sovereignty for everyone. Enough with the colonialism already :-(

We developed the first Non-GMO Project Verified eggs years ago because we believe that producing the best eggs starts with the feed that our hens eat. Of course, they also forage while they’re outside on grass and in the pasture… so they get plenty of fresh goodies to supplement their diet, too. 🌾🐛🐓 But when the hens come inside the barns for a meal, they eat 100% vegetarian feed sourced from farms who grow their grains GMO-free. This helps support grain farmers who choose to grow only corn that’s not genetically modified. See the slides below to learn more about Non-GMO corn & why this matters! 🌽🚫🧬🧑🏽🌾🌿🐔🥚🦋 #nonGMO #nonGMOeggs #keepitGMOfree #nonGMOfeed #nonGMOproject #sustainability #sustainable #nestfresh #nestfresheggs
Growing non-GMO corn is beneficial for people and the planet 🌎🌱 ⚠️ Despite the myth that GMOs “feed the world,” GMO systems are designed to produce large quantities of ultra-processed food. In the grocery store, GMO corn typically ends up as high-fructose syrups and oils. 🐞 From an environmental standpoint, farmers who have transitioned to non-GMO corn crops can testify to the benefits, such as increased beneficial insect activity on the farm, helping keep pests in control naturally. With over 90% of the corn grown in the U.S. currently GMO, each acre transitioned makes an impact. 🌽🚜

#Truehealth #organicfood #freedom #healthywealthywise #Personalexcellence #Naturalliving Many of us already eat organic food so we can stay healthy and strong without having our body damaged and degraded by GMO and intense poisons known as pesticides and herbicides. #Kenya's push for #geneticallymodified #maize is causing concern among #farmers and experts due to potential negative impacts on #livelihoods, #foodsecurity, and #sustainability. - Kenya, facing #foodshortages, lifted a ban on #GMO maize to boost yields and food security, but this move is contested by #smallholderfarmers. - Concerns include dependency on foreign companies for patented #GMOseeds, loss of seed sovereignty, and health risks not adequately addressed. - Critics argue for #alternativestrategies such as #subsidies, #affordablecredit, and #investments in #traditionalfarming methods rather than rushing into GMO adoption. - Similar issues have been seen in other African countries, like #BurkinaFaso, highlighting the #complexities and #risks associated with #GMOcrops. - Kenya's #NationalBiosafetyAuthority emphasizes safety checks but faces #skepticism from farmers about the #longtermimplications of GMOs on #agriculture and #society. #GMODebate #KenyaFoodSecurity #GMOConcerns #SustainableAgriculture #SeedSovereignty #FarmersVoices #AgriculturalPolicy #BiosecurityKenya #FoodShortages #SmallholderFarmers https://lnkd.in/d2SPCPXA

A future sound policy maker and implementer in the fields of agriculture, nutrition, livelihood, environment and sustainability
AS NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT RECENTLY ENDORSED AND DISTRIBUTED GENETICALLY MODIFIED CORN CALLED TELLA, THERE'S A CRY, A CALL TO THE PUBLIC TO REJECT THE GMO SEEDS DUE TO ITS ADVERSE EFFECTS ON HEALTH #SayNoToGMO " I grew up knowing and seeing that - traditional preservation method of our organic maize. That gives Bill Gates and his cronies sleepless nights. It’s the symbol of our heritage and we will protect and preserve at all costs. I received a heart-warming news not long ago. Someone told me they’re heading home to create organic seed banks. Can we have volunteers who will also follow this path? We need real humans on the move. We need people who will commit to travel to the villages and sensitize our people - and show them how to safeguard every single organic crop that we have. 1. They must not take money from anyone in exchange for their organic seeds. 2. Those crops they normally call “Agric” - the ones that often start bearing fruits within months rather than years…those are GMO. Avoid them. 3. Stay only with organic crops and seeds that we all grew up knowing. Those are like medicine to our bodies. They boost our immune system against viruses and diseases. 4. Find very secret methods of preserving these seeds and form Vigilante groups amongst farmers to protect your farms and seeds. Wage a massive campaign against any lecturer or professor or any college that is receiving money from Bill Gates’ NGOs and imposing this evil thing on our students. Visit colleges and universities and high schools and demand to know what they’re teaching our children. Once you find it out they’re indoctrinating them to switch to GMO, please raise alarm immediately and expose. You can get video and picture evidence and share with me and others and we’ll help make them popular. We must stop them everywhere by all means possible. We will win this! #SayNoToGMO #SayNoToGMOfooD #NotoGMONaija #NotoGMOAfrica" *J. C. Okechukwu
