USCIS has taken notice and is taking administrative actions including sending out criminal referrals. Important Update! USCIS has extended the H1B initial registration period for the FY2025 cap season! Originally, the H1B FY 2025 cap season initial registration period started on March 6, 2024, and will end on March 22, 2024. But now, USCIS has extended the deadline to noon Eastern on March 25, 2024. Why the extension? A temporary system interruption caused issues for some registrants, so USCIS is extending the timeline. What's next? Until March 25, 2024, prospective petitioners and their representatives (if applicable) must use the USCIS online account to register each beneficiary electronically for the H1B selection process and pay the associated H1B registration fee for each beneficiary. Great reminder to insurance companies across Canada! In the post below. It's important for companies to standardize their underwriting questions through CSIO and ensure that vendors can integrate them into the BMS system. By doing so, not only can they streamline the underwriting process, but they can also save brokers from the hassle of manually entering data into portals, which can be time-consuming and costly. Moreover, it's crucial for carriers to have standardized coverages instead of using zcodes. The industry as a whole is striving to become zcodes free due to the issues it poses for brokers in terms of data quality and integrity. Companies that rely on zcodes limit the capabilities of brokers, and this practice needs to change. With the establishment of the new CSIO - Centre for Study of Insurance Operations governance committee, there will be significant efforts to identify insurers still using zcodes and encourage them to transition to being zcodes free. There is no place to hide anymore. A spokesman for ACRA noted that 17,000 inactive companies have been struck off the register in the 5 years ending 2023 and that efforts have been ramped up since. Risks are increased if a company is dormant and inactive, especially any with a bank account, for too long, as they pose a risk of being misused for suspicious purposes. Closing off dormant companies does contribute to higher costs for CSPs, in addition to new CSP rules being pushed out this year, discourages lower quality providers from operating. #familyoffice #virtualbusiness #holdco
