Last week, Annie Dean and I spoke about how we can all make our workdays more effective. Here are some highlights from our conversation: Good companies cascade goals. Great companies cascade purpose. Your role as a leader is to clearly explain the “why” behind what you’re doing and do so repeatedly. Teams need to understand what you’re working towards and what success looks like - including how that shows up in someone’s daily work. One of the greatest services you can provide your teams is clear and concise writing. This flows down to your teams and is especially crucial in a distributed world when multiple people (with different skill sets!) try to accomplish something together. Make collaboration the default by sharing your thinking early and often. There is a natural fear of judgment that comes with sharing work that isn’t fully baked. But sharing insights early can save your teammates hours of revisions. We saw this in the State of Teams research too - half of the teams who don’t share information end up performing duplicative work! ICYMI check out the recording: https://lnkd.in/gcV5vnBJ

Absolutely! Cascading purpose is key to employee engagement. Adding regular check-ins to ensure everyone's aligned with goals further strengthens effectiveness. 🙂
