If you're looking for a good cause to support for Amplify Austin today, please consider donating to the United Way of Greater Austin! One of the pivotal goals of their work is their focus on high-quality early care and education. The first five years of every person’s life are foundational. Studies show that a child’s experiences during those early years literally build the architecture of their brain. Every $1 invested in early childhood education results in a $7 return-on-investment that benefits: - Local families, whose focus and trust lies in their children receiving high-quality care and support while they are working, - Our local economy, because it thrives with the talents of parents in the workforce, and - Our community, because children are tomorrow’s workforce and leaders. Supporting early childhood education strengthens our region into one where everyone can thrive. Donate now and make that vision a reality. https://lnkd.in/gZGmXfnv

This conference is not hosted by my organization. There is no *direct* reason I should attend, it's not about "charity fundraising" my focus for 20+ years.....but several years back, I crashed it out of sheer curiosity :) I was welcomed, I found belonging. Not just in charity law peers like Mark Blumberg but BIG thinkers that intersect with our work. A keynote by economist Armine Yalnizyan at a previous ONN conference changed my outlook on my work forever.... My own fundraising conferences were usually under 500 and this conference was really big, the attendees were more diverse ( in every sense of the word ) than I had ever seen before anyone was talking about inclusion.... there were charity CPA's there! (finance staff are like aliens to me, we know they exist but no one sees them ). Hanging out with CPA Ontario peers who care as much about clean audits as I did, tickled my brain. I personally consider this to be the THE most vital gathering for nonprofits and social-good professionals in Ontario because of the way it cuts across the silo's and provides a bigger picture, especially on policy and governance. Fundraising will NOT be the solution; the economy, our country's demographics and the nature of "charity" ( housing, homelessness, healthcare, higher education ) need to be discussed....this is the place to do it. And a discussion based in OUR values; equity, environment, justice and #DecentWork for US and for ALL Leaders, board, program staff, finance and fundraising - there is a place for all here https://lnkd.in/dzFE6HeY Bravo Ontario Nonprofit Network for recognizing that COMMUNITY is the CURE and gathering us again... Will I see you there?

We can't help but celebrate this one!! 💯 One of our former clients, Lock Haven University, has a pretty amazing success story.👇 Lock Haven University had always relied on events-based fundraising: athletic tournaments, sports games, and donor events. The university needed a strategy for developing long-term relationships with donors so that they didn’t depend solely on events for giving. But when COVID-19 suspended all in-person activities in 2020, they faced significant loss of revenue and their need became immediate. While they were retaining donors, giving from retained donors was decreasing by an average annual rate of 60%. So that's when they decided to partner with Veritus Group. Using our Donor Engagement Plan and by adopting The Veritus Way, with just one caseload, the university raised $138,000 more than their projected revenue for the year, even without their normal fundraising events! Strategically minded communications and marketing professional who loves big ideas and a great story.
I realized lately that I might not actually be doing LinkedIn correctly, so here's an attempt to use my deeply limited sphere of influence for some actual good, based on my understanding of the argot of the space: Hey LinkedIn fam! 👋💼 Let's talk about a game-changer in our communities - 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺! 🗞🔍 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗺, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝘀𝗸? 🤔 It's simple - they are the 𝗘𝘆𝗲𝘀 👀, 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘀 👂, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲 👊 of our local communities! 🏙️ They tirelessly work to bring us the stories that matter most - the businesses, the events, and the heroes in our backyard! 🌟 Supporting local journalism isn't just a trend, it's an 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁! 💪 It empowers us to stay informed, make better decisions, and ultimately, strengthen our communities! 🤝 So let's take a moment today to salute our local journalists 🎩📰 - the unsung heroes who work tirelessly to keep us connected and informed! It's rough out there when incompetent companies are attacking the very nature of the business (I can attest to this personally 😮💨). Shout out to groups like Arizona Luminaria, Tucson Agenda, Arizona Agenda, Arizona Public Media and TucsonSentinel.com for putting up the good fight, continuing to make people in power uncomfortable. 🌐📡 Remember, every click, like, subscription and share counts! Come check out this forthcoming conversation led by the Community Foundation of Southern Arizona. Let's spread the word and 𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗥 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗬! 🚀💡 #SupportLocalJournalism #CommunityStrong #EmpowerThroughMedia #LinkedInInfluencePost #MakeADifferenceToday 🌐🗞

On a mission to reignite philanthropy through Responsible & Beneficial AI | Head of AI at DonorSearch AI | Co-Author of Generosity Crisis | AI Inventor | Co-Founder of Fundraising.AI | Podcast Host
The number of people making charitable gifts is diving in many countries, including the USA, Canada, the UK and Australia. Point in fact, the latest Australian Tax Office stats show giving participation is at an all-time low. Thanks to a chance encounter with Lawrence Jackson at the 2023 Giving USA Foundation Summer Symposium, we have a unique opportunity to dive deep on the implications of the Generosity Crisis in Australia and beyond. Join us for this livestream event direct to Australia (and anyone else that wants to join), Brian Crimmins and I, in conversation with Adjunct Associate Professor Dr Wendy Scaife have the honor of presenting on The Generosity Crisis: How RADICAL DONOR CONNECTION on a global basis can help solve Humanity’s Greatest Challenges. JOIN US AS WE SHED LIGHT ON THE PROBLEM AND POSSIBILITIES: Wednesday 27th September 2023 @ 8.00am - 9.00am (AEST) [Tues, Sept 26 @3pm PST / 6pm EST] This presentation will discuss the changing definition of generosity, shedding light on the unprecedented competition for connection facing modern nonprofit organisations. To this end, nonprofits must develop a renewed appreciation for connection and learn to leverage technology once only used by for-profit organisations. Using real data and analysis, attendees will learn the importance of measuring and prioritising connection as well as which technologies can help them to work smarter, not harder to help overcome the competition for connection.
