Earlier this month, I had the privilege of accepting the 2024 Honor Award on behalf of Marriott International at the National Building Museum’s 37th gala. The Museum is a leading cultural institution dedicated to the art of building design and construction in Washington, D.C., the city of our founding. We are deeply grateful to the National Building Museum for their recognition of Marriott’s impact on shaping landscapes and communities in the United States and around the world. Receiving this award is a testament to the dedication of our global teams who design hotels that go far beyond a place to stay. Our properties are designed with our guests in mind, providing a place to work, connect, relax, and celebrate many of life’s most important milestones. We were delighted to be joined by so many of our longstanding business partners at the gala, who helped make the event the biggest in the Museum’s history. Thank you to Aileen Fuchs, Anthony Greenberg, and the team at the National Building Museum for hosting a fabulous event, to our partners for their unwavering support, and to our extended Marriott family of associates for being the beating heart of our hotels and breathing life into the experiences we deliver for our guests each and every day.
Hello Mr. Capuano, I asked you as CEO and you or anybody in your circle has not bothered to help. I have been a member of Starwood hotels( now Marriott as you know). Several years have passed with Marriott as well with stays within the US and your resorts. My son attends Duke University in Durham NC and therefore we frequent the AC hotel there either all or some of my family and for multiple nights as needed. I got a reservation for my boys 7/1-7/2/2024 at this hotel. Due to travel delays they arrived late that evening finding the front door locked and no one answering. After more than 20 minutes Assisting Manager Bobby Sherard opened the door denied he was sleeping on the job, denied that they waited at all and then proceeded to also deny the welcome bonus as comes with my account. Guest number was 76005 and Marriott number 781398995. After my kids complained to me in frustration I called the hotel asking for his boss and a lady said he’s not in and provided an email. Instead of his boss the same asst manager Sherard replied basically did nothing, promised to speak with his staff but the problem was not his staff it was himself. He never responded ever again. Great work. Amen 🙏🏽 Please pray for me and my family right now. I have two daughters- one is deaf and the other has been experiencing suicidal episodes . They are 17 and 15 years old. I am on a list to get shelter because I am homeless. I have being working with local churches and even there is a waiting list. Congratulations, but in a fair world, there should be a way to let You know how few unprofessional employees are able to ruins the effort of a huge organization like Yours: may be I have to fly from Italy all the way to Plano or Bethesda.

3wBut Mr Capuano, when Marriott International is challenged about illegally constructed properties outside the US, Marriott claims to have no responsibility over such matters and blames third parties. "We have no control over our third parties" said Arne Sorenson to me personally in 2019. So you're happy to accept prizes but unwilling to accept accountability?
