Recently Radka Jančíková celebrated 5 years at SaaStock. Very soon Will Brightling will be doing the same. Jessica Ramesh just celebrated her 4 year anniversary as has Joe Byrne, although it was almost only one day, but i'm glad it wasnt. Almost half the team are at nearly three years and it's something i'm proud of. Yet goes against what I say to most people when they join. As we welcome a SaaStocker to the team, all I ask and recommend is that they give us two exceptional years and then should they move on somewhere else or start their own business, I can't ask for anything more. But seemingly our team members prefer to stay. And whilst we are a team and not a family, the culture that's been built means I look forward to Mondays. I look forward to seeing my colleagues. I enjoy being in the office with them and going out for lunch. I look forward to and enjoy running our events with them. You'd think they would be stressful but we try to have fun. We are in this together. They are behind the mission and I would say that a big reason for the longevity and success is that we mostly hire mission driven people. I think the odd mercenary is OK and sometimes essential, but they wont be the ones who stay for longer than one or two years. Also I heard a long time ago someone say when hiring, 'think about whether you'd want to be stuck at an airport with this person when hiring'. And I guess I do. I'd be more than happy to be stuck at an airport with every member of our team. As we come up to a busy period with our annual SaaStock Founder Membership (SFM) retreat starting on Thursday in the Agafay Desert in Morocco with 40 Founders and then 3 weeks later #SaaStockUSA returning in Austin with 1500 SaaS Founders, Execs and Investors (100% YoY growth), i feel lucky to be working with a great bunch of people that give their all and really care about the company and our mission. #saastock #team #culture #events #hiring

Thanks to all of you for your congratulation messages. Having said that, this aint my #Unosquare's anniversary (that's on September 21st), but the celebration of my 3rd year at the Delivery Services Night Watch, when the Lord and Commander César Alejandro Hernández Delgadillo invited my to join to the lines of one of the most amazing and disruptive team I have had the honor to be part of. But what exactly does it mean to be part of this Night Watch (GoT reference)? It holds me accountable for complying, across all the geographical regions my project account has, with the 5Fs that we proudly follow at Unosquare: - Fit: Does the company’s values and culture matches with each and every member (or candidate) in the team? Does technical and soft skills of the individual talents are adequate for the project needs, and these needs are also aligned to individual's goals? - Family/Friends: Does the workload, location and time flexibility allows and promotes the physical and emotional health of the team while also achieves the project objectives? - Freedom: Encourage and empower team members' autonomy and development. Like Steve Jobs once said: "It doesn't make sense to hire smart people and then tell them what to do, we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do" - Fortune: Ensure and take actions to provide fair economic, heedfulness, and moral recognition to people for what they do - Fun: Can every team member envision themselves showing up every day and having a nice time performing their duties both alone and all their partners? Finally, and hoping I haven't bored you to the death, it's honors dutty to recognize that every achievement, every line of code, lambda, script, deployment, pipeline, and the rest of technical skills I wield, has been only because of you and all your teachings, enthusiasm and parnership. So, for tattooing these 5F's in my soul and in my heart, even without realizing it, my eternal gratitude to all and each one of you who has crossed my path; INFINITE THANKS!!
