*** Skål World President in Bonn ***
It was a great opportunity to meet Annette Cardenas, the Skål World President in Bonn!
Directly after my arrive from Kiel I met Annette in the Hotel Rheinland.
We went to our newest Skål Bonn member Florian Pick for an excellent dinner in Oliveto, the Restaurant in AMERON Hotel Königshof.
So nice that we could enjoy a glass of wine on the beautiful terrace - without rain😉.
Once again the view to the Drachenfels and the castle Drachenschloss 🤩👍
Thank you for your time and our great conversation, dear Annette❤️🙏!

We know that our (business) world is #changing faster and faster and that we need to #adapt our methods and approaches accordingly.
We should therefore neither rely on hope, nor expect solutions from others or even close our eyes to change.
Those entrepreneurs who manage to make themselves, their businesses and their employees #fit today, will be able to shape the #future proactively and according to their requirements instead of just reacting passively to it.
In our #WalkWineandDine seminar, you will learn how to make yourself and your business #strong for the future - which approaches and best practices could be helpful, what you should focus on and prepare already now and which skills you can thus develop in your business.

A hot dog? 🌭
Yes, that’s right—a hot dog!
That’s what it took for restaurateur Will Guidara to dazzle some visiting clients who were fine dining at his four-star, award-winning restaurant, Eleven Madison Park, in New York City. According to the hospitality mogul, his success was the result of dedication, hard work, and attentive listening to his customers. He penned the concept of ‘Unreasonable Hospitality’, a philosophy based on transforming ordinary transactions into extraordinary experiences.
He highlights 3 key points for achieving success when serving people:
1. Be present. Care about what you are doing. Listen to what people are saying and not saying.
2. Take what you do seriously, without taking yourself too seriously.
3. Give people a sense of genuine belonging: ‘One size fits one’. Don’t treat people like a commodity.
According to Will, we live in a service economy. This means that making good products is just not enough. He goes beyond to say that it’s not the cost of the gesture that matters; it’s how it makes people feel.

Hot Dogs & Unreasonable Hospitality = Lasting Word of Mouth Marketing
I know, you're asking how in the heck hot dogs have anything to do with creating exceptional personalized hospitality experiences that lead to the most coveted marketing out there...word of mouth.
Well, if you're in the wine, restaurant, or retail business check out this video and share with your team about delivering unreasonable hospitality and how this framework came about through serving hot dogs at a three Michelin Star restaurant.

Coffee is all about human connection. That we get to create both the beverage and the experience people have when enjoying it is at once a great responsibility, a joy, and an opportunity to change lives through our hospitality in each interaction.
In our daily pursuit of providing this special moment we must start with a dedication to our craft and care for people that in many ways could be considered “Unreasonable”.
I am thrilled to welcome to the show someone who has created these moments for guests at the highest levels of global hospitality and is on a mission to champion “Unreasonable Hospitality” as a framework and philosophy that will benefit to anything we set our hearts and hands to do.
Such a pleasure to welcome, Will Guidara!
Will Guidara is the founder of thank you, a hospitality company that develops world-class destinations and helps leaders across industries transform their approach to customer service. He is also the former co-owner of Eleven Madison Park. Under his leadership, the restaurant received numerous accolades, including four stars from the New York Times, three The MICHELIN Guide stars and in 2017 was named number one on the list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants.
He is also the cofounder of the The Welcome Conference , an annual conference that brings together the best minds in the world of hospitality. A graduate Cornell University, he has coauthored four cookbooks, was named one of Crain’s New York Business’s 40 Under 40, and is a recipient of WSJ. Magazine’s Innovator Award.

In the conversation we explore Will’s own development and pursuit of hospitality through his career in restaurants, the birth of the idea of Unreasonable Hospitality, and the nuances of how it is applied in both life and the work of serving others.

You can find it everywhere in Barbados – restaurants, rum shops, cocktail stands on the beach, bottled and in stores, and served as a welcome drink in many hotel. I shouldn't have been surprised as Barbados is known as the birthplace of rum, with a long history of rum production. The rum punch, also called Bajan Rum Punch, is not only a popular cocktail, but also an important part of the island's culture and hospitality.
I'm a sucker for tropical drinks, especially rum drinks with an umbrella. Shall we sip?
