Absolutely true! This is precisely why the value and importance of design shine brightest when navigating through change. Reflecting on the ADDIE model, it's crucial to begin with the first step: assessing your people. Understanding their needs, capabilities, and perspectives lays a solid foundation for effective change management, making design even more valuable and essential in the process.

🎓🌍 Expanding our horizons is key to changing minds. Breakthroughs happen through dialogue, not in echo chambers. 🌟 On August 21, 2023, during the opening ceremony at Yale University, President Peter Salovey delivered an inspiring message to over 1600 new students. He emphasized the importance of broadening our perspectives in order to reshape others' thinking. It's not about surrounding ourselves with like-minded individuals but engaging with those whose beliefs differ from our own. These interactions are not obstacles to progress, but rather the prerequisites for it. We must take the time to understand the full picture, generate lasting and beneficial outcomes, and build consensus. By embracing diverse viewpoints, we can create a society that thrives on collaboration and innovation. Together, let's challenge ourselves to think beyond our comfort zones and seek common ground with those who hold different worldviews. It was energizing to be back in a classroom, especially when that classroom is at Harvard University. That’s where CEO Ashish Chand and I found ourselves in early November, at a class which featured a case study the Harvard Business School published about Belden two years ago which covered our transformation to a solution provider. Sharing our experience with the students meant so much to me. First, because I believe that the strategy behind our transformation serves as an incredible success story that others can learn from. Second, it’s a demonstration of our commitment to invest in talent.
