Campus Manager at Furman University | MA Strategic Design Candidate

It truly is a gift to see your work come to fruition - Bryan Davis, thank you for trusting me with The Hill Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Furman University's Summer Business and Innovation Boot Camp again this summer. For those of you who missed my post last summer (feel free to watch my professional modeling skills in last year's program video; a link if you are curious: https://lnkd.in/eatUmzMy). Using feedback and student interviews from last year's cohort, we hit the ground running in 2023 to redesign, amplify, and recruit for the 2024 Summer Boot Camp. Designed with the psychological principles of delayed recall, relearning, and "the testing effect", the curriculum was updated to reflect one main goal: "how to successfully create and launch a business of your own". Though our expectations were high, I was taken aback by the incredible pitch decks we saw yesterday as our students pitched their newly created ventures live in front of our esteemed investors from VentureSouth, SCRA: South Carolina Research Authority, and Flywheel Coworking. In an effort to keep this post from being any longer - if you want to know more about the program, please follow our social media and stay up to date with our progress (social link: @furmaninnovates). The growth I have seen is incredible and I am in awe of each of you: Caroline Beardall, Lilia Bierman, Marah Campbell, Joseph Crayston, Sadie Hill, Thomas Hunter, Samuella Kabila, Anita Mwangi, David Peral, Ryan Roskell, and Luke Taylor. A huge thank you to my summer fellow, Mary (Mazi) Aarts who has revolutionized both the program and my life - I am so proud of you! To my team, Rachel Morris, Bryan Davis, and Eric Cooperman, thank you so much for your continuous support! ⭐

We are so lucky to have such an incredible team - we can't wait to see all these students run the world in a few short years - let it be known, "we knew them when".

Great job all around, Anne! Using customer interviews from previous sessions and considering how to integrate that input going forward (in this and other programs you direct!) is great. I enjoyed participating this year.
