Marriage - My middle daughter got engaged over 🎄 in Chattanooga. Her fiancé had a photographer present to capture the moment. My wife and I have been married 32 years. I’m by far no expert on marriage (ask my wife) 🤷♂️ But - here’s what I’ve learned about marriage and what I’ll tell my 3 daughters. ✅ I definitely outkicked my coverage. ✅ It’s not about me. ✅ I had no idea what marriage was about (my wife may still question this). ✅ I’m still learning. ✅ It’s work to make it work. ✅ Our marriage isn't perfect - but nobody's is (if they tell you it is they aren't being honest). ✅ It’s forever - through the ups and downs. ✅ Money doesn't solve anything. It’s a resource to be a steward with. How you use it and what you use it for matters. ✅ Family is everything. ✅ I take things for granted. ✅ You can work anything out if you care enough. ✅ Enjoy the journey. ✅ Don't give up - it's not easy - but remember the commitment. #marriage

How long should you date before you get married? Do you want to find out? Then keep on reading. Is there a minimum number of weeks or months people should spend together before getting married? A lady asked me that question yesterday after my post on marriage. Normally, it takes around six months, or 172 days, for a person to decide if the person they are dating is marriage material. You might doubt this, but most people know in the first few months where to place you in their lives. Ideally, you may want to date for 1 or 2 years before you decide to get married so that you can experience major life events together and understand each other better. You also need to figure out if you're comfortable living together and spending a lot of time around your partner. Truthfully, every relationship is different; some people meet and get married in the first few months, while others wait a few years before they do so. The timeline for any couple depends on them. You can choose what works for you; just ensure that you have studied them well enough. If it doesn't feel right, then wait a little longer before you decide to get married. Hi LinkedInfamily. whoever you desire to journey with in marriage should be your number 1 priority in God. Stop giving attention to people whose understanding of marriage is short and are living a purposeless marriage. Your partner/spouse must be first in your life. If he or she can't be first in your life then why marry the person. For what? I have seen marriages where 1. A husband trust his mum more than his wife. 2. The wife's parent calls the shot in her home. 3. The Pastor is more honoured and respected than her husband. 4. The woman never supports her husband financially but supports her own brothers with everything she had. 5. A husband never shows love and affection to his wife but visit places with friends and female colleagues. 6. A wife share secrets with her friends and her husband is alien of who she is. With so many bad acts that ascertain that some couples dont prioritize their spouse. Whomever taugt you all these shenanigans needs to be flooged because not prioritizing your spouse will make you make a mess of your marraige. Your husband or wife should be first in your life. Dont marry someone you cant trust just because of an unnecessary and flimzy excuse and you are now building a life outside of your home. Your partner is your first. Not your second or third or last. The first person: 1. To tell about everything. Your number one fan and ever present gist partner. 2. The only person you share your intimate life with. 3. The only person that knows you real big. 4. Your other half. 5. Someone you keep choosing over work, every other person, everyday, and in all situations. Before you say "I DO" consider all these and after saying " I DO" continue doing all these things. The problem of many homes today is that we are not marrying someone who fit perfectly into our purpose in life and our uniqueness. Your partner is too far from you and thats why you dont trust him or her. *Shoot your shot:*Check these before marriage.* Thank you thank you very much, Let God continually use you, not yet married but these (monogamy) are great concepts to start with. One person once said" if you have a thought that divorce is an option when you get married then its OK not to get married" *Response* Welcome and thanks for listening to the audio. Anyone who marries with divorce in mind is a broken person and help those people heal first otherwise they will destroy those they are in partnership with. Any child raised in survival i.e without their biological parents, or with biological parents but the child felt unloved/ cared for or if they had promiscious/ polygamous parents or single parents are *already broken.* If you aren't careful they are likely to drown you into the deep. If you find anyone struggling in relationship it's either of the above factors that has pushed them. No mango tree can yeild orange fruits. Take such people through healing processes first before indulging them. One can cover their pain but it never leave until you choose to deal with it. As you look to marriage remember your photocopying yourself into others, and I hope you will be proud of the outcome at the end of the day.
