Celebrating and elevating Jorge Alvarez, Tiana Day, and Angela Richard, M.Ed. who engaged in a thought leadership session with the Taco Bell Foundation X CoLabL on Gen Z. Some of the🔥actionable insights we discussed include: 👉🏾 Be authentic in storytelling – focus on the full "human experience" and not just moments of success. Tell the story leading up to the success. 👉🏾 Be values-driven and confident in communicating those values internally and externally. Take a stand on issues that matter and be confident in communicating what your stand is and why it matters. 👉🏾 Ensure that feedback moves beyond the surface to inspire and inform change. Offer constructive feedback that is action-oriented and specific. 👉🏾 Focus on the 4 Cs – connection, curiosity, context, and co-creating. How are we building and managing connections that are less transactional and more relational? How are we balancing teaching and learning together plus finding the confidence/courage to ask questions and dig deeper to understand each other and the issues we are aiming to address. Are we taking time to share context including the why behind decisions, tasks, and goals? Are we ensuring that there are seats at the table for those impacted by decisions and strategy – inviting them to share perspectives and co-create solutions to challenges plus strategies for growth. Special thanks to Jennifer Walker Bradbury for collaborating on the session plus all of the Taco Bell Foundation board members and committee members for joining the staff for this session! When we are intentional about pausing, zooming out, and learning together, we individually and collectively drive change and innovation both in our mindset and actions. #continuousimprovement #CSR #socialimpact #futureofwork #genZ #management #inclusion #belonging #equity #HR #HRCommunity #philanthropy #change #earlycareer #professionaldevelopment

Insights Turning Employees Into Advocates and Customer Magnets | Consultant, Speaker, Show Host, Columnist, CEO/Founder of Jill Raff Group, LLC
Ever wonder about the secret behind successful businesses? It's not just about one person; it's about the power of teamwork and collaboration! Think about iconic companies like McDonald's. Their success wasn't achieved solo, and it's not just about flipping burgers, it's about the power of teamwork! I experienced this first-hand from being immersed in their developing culture since my early childhood. (My parents & grandparents opened National Store # 150.) Marcia Raff While maybe cliché, I love the expression, “There’s no “I” in TEAM. So true! Let's embrace teamwork and recognize that great things in business are never done by one person alone. We all achieve a higher level of team success and grow to be more than we thought we could be personally when collaborating and supporting one another as a cohesive team working toward common goals. Together, we can achieve extraordinary results! TAG YOUR TEAMMATES and let's make magic happen! #Teamwork #Collaboration #SuccessStory #Employeeexperience #EX2CX

If you are not using the "together, alone" principal... In your restaurant, retail or service business trainings. You are losing very impactful results. - Employees who feel heard and valued. - A richer variety of ideas - A collaborative team culture - Reduce groupthink challenges The principle of “together, alone” addresses one of the fundamental challenges in team interactions. The dominance of louder, more authoritative voices, typically those of a General Manager (GM) or an Assistant General Manager (AGM). Who might unduly influence the group’s decisions. And many times were promoted because they were the best of the bunch. Not a trained leader or manager or sales pro. This dynamic can stifle creativity and initiative among other team members, leading to a lack of diverse ideas and, potentially, to decisions that are not fully explored. And unheard team members. Which is never a good thing. This might seem counterintuitive at first glance—after all, aren’t teams supposed to work closely together? Yes, and they do, but harnessing the best of both collaboration and individual reflection requires a nuanced strategy. Best guided by an expert in team dynamics and training. There are 4 crucial steps: 1. Structured Idea Generation 2. Effective Synthesis Sessions 3. Implementation of Democratic Selection 4. Feedback and Iteration I am here to help you reap the benefits. And more importantly. Limit the risks. Of losing good employees. 😎 Psst... I'm here to help you unlock the full potential of your team. Remember, the key to success in any restaurant lies in the strength and creativity of its people. Let's work together to bring out the best in your team. McDonald’s staff wearing Balochi dresses as a tribute to Balochi culture can be seen as a positive gesture of cultural appreciation and diversity. It demonstrates a company’s willingness to embrace and celebrate different cultures and traditions. Such initiatives can promote cultural understanding and respect among employees and customers, fostering a more inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. It is worth considering how such initiatives fit into a broader commitment to diversity and inclusion within the company. Similar actions can also be taken to ensure that employees from diverse backgrounds are treated equitably and that their cultures are respected year-round, not just during special events or promotions. McDonald’s should engage with members of the Balochi community to ensure they are accurately representing the culture and not engaging in cultural appropriation. It is also crucial that employees who choose to participate in this initiative do so voluntarily and without feeling pressured. The idea of McDonald’s staff wearing Balochi dresses as a tribute to Balochi culture is a positive step, which was done with respect, sensitivity, and a commitment to promote diversity and inclusion in a comprehensive way.
