*** 2024 GRANT FUNDING NOW OPEN *** Cornwall Women's Fund is now accepting applications for our 2024 grant funding! We aim to support community projects in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly supporting women’s mental health. For this round of funding projects with a focus on perinatal mental health will be given preferential consideration. In 2021, we worked with a team from Oxford University that undertook in-depth research into the needs of women and girls across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. They considered existing research where it was available and interviewed charity and community leaders, and women from across the county to get a true picture of what really mattered to them and which areas it was difficult to find funding for. One of the 4 key areas in their report “Understanding what matters to women and girls in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly” was women and girls mental health, identifying a particular lack of support for those accessing perinatal mental health services. Our Members have voted the area of Women and Girls Mental Health for our 2024 grant funding and we are now accepting applications. Grants range from £500 to a maximum of £1,000 Our grants are administered by Cornwall Community Foundation and you can find more information and details of how to apply here: https://lnkd.in/e_ECFKh4 #funding #grant #cornwall #womenandgirls #mentalhealth #givingcircle

High Performing Therapist for High Performing Individuals || Mental Performance & Mental Wellness Coach II Passionate Advocate for Cancer Patient Mental Health
Anyone may apply for the scholarship. Whether you live in the U.S or internationally If you are under the age of 18, we require a guardian to complete the application on your behalf. Scholarships typically offer, on average, three to six months of mental health care. And, because they know that mental health care is best delivered over time you may have the option for an extension. They typically fund individual therapy sessions at a rate of $65-$100 per session, but they will consider applications for group therapy and higher levels of care like intensive outpatient (IOP). Any additional cost of treatment is the applicant’s financial responsibility. ** There are other very specific requirements for this scholarship program. Please visit their website for the complete information. ** ** This program also can benefit from donations so that more people in the world can be served, if you feel compelled, please donate to this amazing resource. ** https://lnkd.in/e_whzneh -- @twloha #mentalhealth #mentalhealthsupport #mentalhealthresource #freeresources #scholarshipprogram #twloha #treatmentandrecovery

You all have been fantastic. I slept better last night when disassociating myself from the clinic. It is a good start. I am still tired and burnt out, but a little better. Thank you for the outpouring support of me and the clinic. MECFS Clinic MN, a community free clinic for ME/CFS and Long COVID, has transformed and brought healing to many since its inception on January 1, 2023. Its services are rapidly expanding to cover now many parts of the country. Dr. Tam can no longer do it all by herself. She needs help, any help. Lisa Alioto, one of our board members, is spearheading an effort to organize anyone who may want to volunteer their time and interests (thank you, Lisa). We recognize that your energy and time are precious and limited. Please email Lisa (lisa.m.alioto@gmail.com) if you want to volunteer on a project base, weekly or monthly; how much time you can help; and in what areas. We will tabulate them out and get back to everyone. I already have focused some energy in applying for a grant this morning to help our clinic hire people, address food insecurity, etc. We will soon organize a nationwide virtual bake sale to raise funds, so we can offer some stipends to attract people/medical professionals to join our clinic. Please keep us in your prayer. #volunteering #freeclinics #longcovid #MECFS #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis

This week, Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF)'s study into destitution in the UK revealed that around 3.8 million people – around 1 million of them children – experienced destitution in the UK in 2022. This means they were unable to meet their most basic physical needs to be warm, dry, clean and fed. We know this has deep and profound impacts on health, mental health and people’s prospects; it also puts strain on already overstretched services. At the same time, Forum Central and Voluntary Action Leeds released the latest State of the Sector in Leeds report. It reveals that, between 2020 and 2022, there has been a 10% drop in registered charitable organisations in the city, alongside a 34% drop in the paid workforce and 25% drop in registered volunteers. At a time when Community Organisations are most needed, the sector is under significant stress. Kate Hainsworth, Chief Executive of Leeds Community Foundation said "Yesterday's Joseph Rowntree Foundation report confirms what we've been seeing and experiencing for months now.. It's tough to read and hear the stories at Leeds Community Foundation and GiveBradford, but far tougher to live it as so many currently do in our plain sight. Please think hard about what you can do, and who you can influence to help turn around a terrible trend." Great comments from Restore Hope about the impact that the funding from #AngelsDen 2023 had on their work! 'We were pitching for support in seeing our Community Hub come to life in Amersham through robust research and evaluation. In the months since then we have been able to have conversations with: - More than 50 professionals, service providers, church leaders, council members, local authority representatives - More than 25 Families and young people - Participated in 9 different local working groups - 300+ individuals attended our public consultation open day (we expected 30 people!) - 118 respondents to our public survey - Restore Hope’s Young Volunteers programme participants The result of this work has been strong encouragement for our development plans as well as an understanding of the current need in the area: - 99% of respondents agree that ‘A Community Hub for our local community to gather and seek support for the ups and downs of life’ is important - 98% agree that the redevelopment of St John’s into a Community Hub is a good use for the space and that it will benefit the local area - From a list of 12 items the Top four greatest needs identified were- Youth Provision (48% of respondents), Wellbeing and Mental Health (42%), Family Support (38%) and Advice and Guidance (35%) - Additionally a number of free response comments identified a need to support the elderly, and provide opportunities for intergenerational gathering. All this research has been possible because of the Angels Den grant, and we are now in a position to move forward with our planning of the Community Hub based on empirical data. We expect this robust research and evaluation will open doors to further conversations around funding, partnerships and programming for the new site in Amersham.' #buckinghamshire #charity #donation #funding #philanthropy #amersham #fundraising

Tiny Changes is Scotland’s first national youth mental health charity. T-SQUARED has partnered with them to raise funds and awareness over the coming year. Tiny Changes supports young leaders across Scotland to run innovative youth mental health projects in their own communities. It raises money to fund ideas that make young people feel better. Ideas that change attitudes, deepen understanding or provide much-needed support. T-SQUARED supports the charity’s aim to boost the mental health of Scotland’s children and reduce the rate of suicide at all ages. Tiny Changes are a small, dedicated team and we can’t think of a better cause to work with. We have already trained a number of mental health first aiders among our own teams and we are on our way to raise at least £5k for Tiny Changes over the next 12 months. We have a series of fundraising events and activities planned, so look out for details in the coming months. We look forward to building this partnership as the year progresses. As the team at Tiny Changes always say: ‘Together, we’ll make tiny changes to earth.’ #TinyChanges #Mentalhealth #Partnership

This #WorldMentalHealthDay we are really proud of what we have managed to achieve so far with our Mental Health Scale-Up Fund - although of course, there is much more to do. Our three partner charities came together last week to share with each other, and our donors and trustees, their success and challenges to date. We heard about how our commitment to significant five-year funding for each of them had meant that they could: 👉 put in place strong foundations for a coherent programme in Year 1 - with a clear, sustainable plan to grow it over 5 years. 👉 put in place new HR, financial management and Governance processes and policies in year 1 - ready for a sustained, sustainable growth in the next 4 years. 👉 carry out research with children and parents into what their greatest needs are We also all discussed some key challenges - notably how incredibly difficult it is being a parent at this time - but because we discussed it together, all three organisations were able to bring forward ideas for how we could develop ways to support parents. We are very grateful for the open minds and open hearts of our charity partners and our donors in approaching this as a joint venture - to jointly work to improve young people's mental health in our county and learn together what works.
