The course will allow participants to understand the science of healthy relationships and community, apply restorative practices to their professional and personal lives, and realize the significance of utilizing restorative practices and facilitating productive circles. Centennial High School Director of Bands, Scott Hook, has won the prestigious Manilow Music Project award! The Manilow Music Project supports music education by donating thousands of instruments to schools across the nation and offering scholarships to young musicians. In honor of his achievement, legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow is awarding Mr. Hook a $5,000 cash prize and $5,000 in Manilow Bucks for new classroom instruments. Mr. Hook will receive his award in person at Barry Manilow’s concert on August 1. Congratulations, Mr. Hook! Wondering How Volunteers Make a Difference in Our Schools? 📚 A 5th-grade teacher needed help reviewing books with students. A family friend stepped up, and two more amazing community members joined in too! 📖 Our literacy teacher benefits from two incredible regular volunteers who dedicate their time each week to help students improve their reading and literacy skills. ❤️Our library thrives thanks to a dedicated volunteer who is also the mother of one of our special education teachers! The Weidenman Foundation has donated $10K to ACSD's F.U.E.L. account from their annual Fill the Fund event in April! Thanks to participating restaurants like Chick-fil-A, Cold Stone Creamery, Early Bird, Gladdies, Grimaldi’s, JJ’s Tavern & Grill, Leaning Tower, Little Caesars, Magee’s Irish Pub, Main Street Cafe, The Outside Scoop, Sorriso’s Grille, Sports Page, TJ’s Bagels, and Wig and Pen, a portion of their sales went towards reducing negative lunch balances.
