It’s National Safety Month! At Ankeny Schools, safety is a top priority. A few ways that we keep our students and staff safe during the school year is by practicing emergency drills, training our staff in case of emergency situations, having secure entry processes in all buildings, and having a designated safety team ready for extreme situations. As always, you can exemplify safety anywhere by using technology responsibly, identifying the trusted individuals you can count on, and having emergency numbers at quick disposal. Centennial High School Director of Bands, Scott Hook, has won the prestigious Manilow Music Project award! The Manilow Music Project supports music education by donating thousands of instruments to schools across the nation and offering scholarships to young musicians. In honor of his achievement, legendary singer-songwriter Barry Manilow is awarding Mr. Hook a $5,000 cash prize and $5,000 in Manilow Bucks for new classroom instruments.
