70 Year Anniversary of the Red Bricks of SRCC!
Seven decades ago, on Friday, January 08, 1954, Shri Ram College of Commerce shifted from its erstwhile location in Charkhewalan, Old Delhi to its present day location in the North Campus, University of Delhi. We bring from our Archives, the event rightfully inked in the March 1954 edition of Yamuna College Magazine as "the most important event to record during the year"
Today, the iconic red brick Main Building of Shri Ram College of Commerce completes 70 Years. The SRCC Main Building, now declared a Heritage Building by the Government of NCT, remains one of the most recognizable and nostalgia evoking identities of Shri Ram College of Commerce. Its distinct colonnade façade in the Art Deco style of the neo-classical school of architecture, with its sprawling lawns and iconic clock tower, makes the celebrated SRCC Building a landmark both figuratively and symbolically.
For seventy glorious years, the SRCC Main Building, in its hallowed classrooms, alleys and passages, has inspired countless generations stepping foot for the next phase of their life. It has been a happy witness to the dreams of those entering SRCC and the galvanising catalyst in turning them into reality.
And it continues to stoke Aspirations, illuminate Hopes, guide Journeys, and create Memories like it did for the past seventy years.
