Panel 4 of HR Conclave 6.0 witnessed a stimulating discussion on the role of HR in a Dynamic Business Environment. The topic of the discussion was 'Navigating Cross-Generational Dynamics in a Workplace.' The Panel was moderated by Dr. Barnali Chaudhary, and the Industry leaders who were part of the Panel were - Mr. Rahul Bagale, Group HR Head, Force Motors Ltd. Ms. Jaya Lakshmi, People Partner, Google  Mr. Abhinav Iyer, GAR OD Director, Intel Corporation  Ms. Rekha Manola (she/her), Talent Acquisition Manager & India TA DE&I Program Manager, HP The Panel agreed that HR goes beyond surface-level chores to understand the company and advocate for its personnel. HR may struggle with generational values, as the leaders recognized. They emphasized learning culture and India's longstanding reverse mentoring tradition. The previous FSD learning session with Ms. Amy Truong from LG Electronics R&D Vietnam left me with a great sense of appreciation toward HR professionals. 💡 Whether they are introverts or extroverts, HR professionals possess the remarkable ability to foster connections among individuals and forge profound relationships. Their ‘superpower’ for building bridges between team members and engaging with them on a meaningful level is a testament to their invaluable role in cultivating a harmonious and productive work environment. 💡 HR teams play a strategic role in aligning human capital with organizational objectives. 💌 LG OVERVIEW - An Interesting Insight Into The Future Technology Technology moves at a relentlessly fast pace in the modern world. It has never been so easy to lose track of the world’s progress. Therefore, as a youngster who is born in the digital age, I believe that learning deeply into the world of technology is not only essential for career prospects but also very intriguing to follow. In this learning session, I had the chance to listen to Miss Lan Huong - HR of LG Electronics RnD Vietnam. Thanks to her, I gained a stronger understanding of the corporation, its mission and vision and an interesting insight into the car industry’s RnD job. LG Electronics RnD Vietnam is an R&D subsidiary in a move aimed at strengthening LG’s rapidly growing electric vehicle related business. LG Electronics RnD Vietnam specializes in producing vehicle component solutions. 📌 There are several new aspects that I have learnt and wanted to share through this learning session:  Global trends towards vehicles include: green production, safety maximization and smart interface.  Working policies and benefits are very important for human resources management. They are the determinants that help attract talents to contribute themselves to the firms.   Equality is one of the factors that establish a firm foundation for an organization. Constant learning and self-development should be voluntarily practiced due to its long-term benefits. Learning and practice are equally essential for both leaders and members. Principles should be carefully established and followed. They are among the key characteristics that determine your success in life. Besides these new lessons, I was impressed by Miss Huong’s will and attitude. Though facing challenges (experiencing failures with her team), she was willing to learn, reflect and come back to the track. I will soon have been at Ericsson for 3 years and can't believe how quickly time has gone. However, they do say time flies when you're having fun! The last 3 years have taught me lots of things but here's a few of the BIG ones (because I've found them at Ericsson): 1) Companies who care about wellbeing and work-life balance DO exist. Flexible work arrangements and polices that promote a healthy balance between work and personal life. Not just buzzwords but in reality. 2) Strong leadership ISN'T about stamping feet and making demands. Good leaders set a clear vision and inspire their employees, whilst empowering them to do their best work. 3) A positive culture with a 'speak up' environment is CRITICAL. Mutual respect, trust and collaboration, where employees feel valued and supported should be a minimum requirement. 4) That your efforts and contributions MEAN something. That your work is contributing to something larger. A company's mission and values should resonate and give a sense of purpose. I've found some of these things at points in my career (I've also found employers where none of these things exist), but to have worked for a company for the last 3 years where all of these things are core values is amazing. If your employer doesn't deliver on these - remember - they should! 💪 #imaginepossible

How to attract, retain and develop digital talents globally? Thank you Arvato Systems Malaysia for the invitation to share my experiences with you and join an exchange with hand selected leaders from other Digital/IT Hubs in Malaysia. Such sessions help to reflect and connect the learned with new inspirations. My takeaway: there are a few basics that need to be set (e.g. competitive salary and a well running recruiting set-up), but at the end, the work environment and culture make people wanting to join and stay with a company. I believe in the saying, "Teamwork makes the dream work." (Here's why) In my 16+ years of experience, I've worked on many projects across various companies like Havells India Ltd, LG Electronics, Intex Technologies (India) Ltd., Huawei and Sony. From all of them, one thing is clear: teamwork is the most important thing. Every successful project I have worked on, whether launching a new product or implementing a new process, was made possible by the collaboration and support of a dedicated team. Working together to achieve a common goal, in my opinion, brings out the best in everyone on the team and promotes creative thinking and innovation. I have seen how combining different perspectives, skills, and experiences from everyone can produce incredible results. Each team member brings something unique to the table, and when we come together and combine our strengths, we can achieve things that we never could have on our own. Teamwork isn't just about getting things done. It is also about establishing relationships, trusting others and gaining support among ourselves. An employee gets up early in the morning with the help of an app and has an app to help her/him get a better sleep. She/he has groceries delivered in ~10 minutes and can try a clothe & return, if not liked. She/he also spends considerable time at work, and thus the expectations are for a similar experience which is #simple, #transparent and #bespoke to his/her liking. Organizations (67%) share that superior employee experience (#EX) have a direct impact on the profitability. In a #GCC roundtable with leaders from Rio Tinto, British Telecom, Orange Business Services, Clifford Chance, Suzuki Research & Development Institute and Whirlpool, we deliberated on how EX can be made more holistic at #GBS organizations in India. Key reflections: a. Employee experience is best delivered when HR, IT, Facility, Communication and Marketing work hand-in-hand. Is there a need to revisit the accountabilities? b. Technology and human 'care' are two sides of the same coin c. Critical to consider long term impacts as we strive for short-term wins. Also is there a change fatigue- How do we garner attention and manage change in the current 'Tik-tok' environment?
