Good knowledge of Oracle on AWS Linux Server Experience with High Availability and Always on Databases RESPONSIBILITIES: Database user account management: o DB account creation o Grant access rights on SYS and non-SYS objects o Permission on folders, log/trace files to Apps DBA o Define and manage user profiles/policies oDatabase Software maintenance: o Implement database patches in non-production and production environment; execute test plan, and rollback if necessary. Database Monitoring: o Monitor database log files for errors. o Monitor database components affecting connectivity e.g., listeners process and log. o Monitor database backups o Monitor database related OS/network parameters o Monitor free space availability on the database server · Manage Database Capacity: o Monitor growth rate of database objects and proactively resolve space related errors. o Monitor RDBMS log files and archive them in a timely fashion o Monitor mount points to keep free space available on which RDBMS files and database files are located. o Relocate physical database objects, for example, datafile, index, UNDO files, as necessary to manage space on the server. Manage Database Availability: o Ensure availability of instance/database, listeners, log files, space of log files, and other RDBMS related processes. o Database Maintenance: o Perform re-indexing as necessary to improve database performance. o Generate statistics as needed for improved program, for example, run Analyze statement in Oracle. o Tune database parameters to improved performance Manage Database Backup and Recovery: o Plan and execute backup and recovery process for production and non-production databases by utilizing Customer’s backup infrastructure. o Troubleshoot database backup issues o Perform database restore from backup as requested by Customer · Database High Availability management: o Provide support for HA technologies like Oracle RAC, SQL Cluster, Log shipping, ASM, Oracle Clusterware. o Provide support for database replication technologies. o Provide support for disaster recovery database technologies, for example, Oracle Dataguard, database mirroring, Always ON. o Provide support for Oracle Grid Control tool. o Perform refresh/cloning/rebuilding of database o Create new database/instance; Database software installation: o Estimate size and create directory structure on the server for RDBMS installation o Install and configure database software o Install and configure HA such as Oracle RAC or Microsoft SQL Cluster #panindiahiring #panindia #oracle #linux #rdbms #oraclejobs #informationtechnologyjobs

Title: SQL DBA (Sybase Exp Must) Location: Lansing, MI Need locals No utility bills are workable Duration: 1+ Years   ***Hybrid: Will need to be onsite from day 1, two days a week. Wednesdays are required to be onsite***(Please remember, as noted in the RTR, the State reserves the right to modify the work schedule at any time throughout the duration of the assignment.)   Job Description: This position is for an expected 40 hours per week Monday through Friday with two days on site (Wednesdays are a mandatory onsite day).    Our environment is predominantly Sybase with SQL Server.  We are moving from Sybase to a pure SQL Server in approximately 3 years.  The Sybase environment is 15.7 on Solaris in an X86 hardware environment within our local network.  The SQL Server environment is mixed versions of SQL Server on mixed versions of Windows Server with an upcoming project to update versions.  This environment includes both servers in our network and in Azure.    Our planned goal is to move off Sybase and a project to do this is underway and thus the need for the selected candidate to have some experience with both Sybase and SQL Server.    Our primary goal is to have an additional individual to assist with our Sybase 15.7.  As a result, the appropriate candidate will need to have Unix background running and developing CRON jobs with command line experience. The DBA should be familiar with Sybase ASE 15.7.  This can be at the level of a junior DBA.  The desire is to have a DBA that can assist with tasks, particularly during afterhours implementations that the senior DBAs need completed to reduce the overall time required per DBA. This position will also help with other tasks that occur during the week such as weekly data fixes which occur on Thursday and Friday.   A strong desired experience is migration from Sybase to SQL Server.     Responsibilities: • Research, draft and recommend database standards and policies. • Coordinate with vendor support to address technical issues that could not be resolved in-house. • Measure and/or forecast current capacity, gauge the growth of capacity over time, and factor in the anticipated capacity requirements to determine whether the existing infrastructure can sustain the anticipated workload.   • Research, analyze, and determine appropriate hardware changes to support future application and database needs. Report recommendations to appropriate DBA specialist and/or technical services. • Review, install, analyze and implement security patches to be applied to remain PCI compliant, vendor compliant, and OES compliant.   • Define/design roles. • Define/design profiles. • Recommend standard password security policies. • Implement data encryption (13+design encryption).
