It is powerful, and today I am teaching a group of professionals the different ways that this can be used with clients. Because QIFT takes a multi-positioned stance when working with clients, today the group will learn how to do a consultation message from first generation schools of family therapy as well as how to contribute to a reflecting team discussion as part of second generation ways of working. I love that we're starting to have these non-clinical conversations within the equine veterinary space! Empowering individuals to take responsibility for themselves is a wonderful thing that I think should be encouraged... and at the same time we need to accept a collective responsibility for supporting that individual on their journey. There are of course tales of individuals who have, against all the odds, tackled every obstacle in their path and excelled in the pursuit of their goals. However we often forget to look at all the people who supported them along the way. Putting everything on the individual, in my opinion, isn't a long term plan for success. As the proverb goes "if you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together". Let's stop telling individuals they didn't "succeed" because they didn't work hard enough/ want it badly enough/ make enough sacrifices. How about we help them nurture their passions, find their purpose and cheer them on as they go? #equinevet #empower #purpose #success #bettertogether #teamwork #notindividualism
