We're on the cusp of the largest shift in software design since Apple moved everyone from CLIs to the GUI Intelligence embedded in software means that the entire relationship between the user and the UI will change. Software will be granted agency to make decisions. How do you monitor that? Whats the best UX? How much is copilot vs. autonomous? These are all outstanding questions that I don't know the answer too. But when you have agents performing tasks for you, do you really want the UI of a 2018 SaaS tool as your guide? Or maybe it's better to think of human interaction itself as a UX? If you have an employee who reports to you, what's your preferred UX for that interaction? Well if you think those are interesting questions, Basis is hiring our founding designer. Come join and shape the future of software design

Have design systems killed UX Design as a job? Been thinking about this lately - with a good design system, the need to keep a full team of UX designers on staff is significantly reduced. PMs and engineers can put together fully functional user experiences that maintain consistency and coherency by using digital lego bricks. What do you think? With the massive amounts of layoffs that are continuing to happen for UX roles, what else could be the reason? #designsystems #uxdesign #ux

Multidisciplinary Professional: Human-Centric UX/UI Designer | MVP-Focused IT Project Manager | E-commerce Profitability Expert for Multi-Million Dollar Brands
A few bad UX patterns I found while applying for new jobs: 1. Asking the exact address for the remote positions. I'm unsure why the employer needs my exact address on the first step of applying for the position. 2. Make required voluntary self-identification. It just doesn't make any sense. Read these two words again — "voluntary" and "required".

If you are good at #UserResearch, *please* apply for these jobs. We desperately need AI to have better #usability (see https://lnkd.in/gjve6STk ). I'll have to give Microsoft props for investing in this, as the other major AI vendors continue to treat UX as an afterthought. (I recently saw a set of job postings from Leonardo, which I love dearly for their image quality, but not a single UX job on the list, and the frontend-engineer jobs had a bullet point saying something like knowledge of UX design beneficial, but not required. Guess whether new Leonardo features will be easy or difficult to use with that attitude.) 👓Follow me on LinkedIn for more UX updates https://lnkd.in/gfffgNcr or subscribe to my 💌newsletter📧 to receive the full text of all my new articles by email as soon as they are published: https://lnkd.in/gRPyWTVV #UserExperience #ArtificialIntelligence #UXjobs #careers

Delivering increased ROI on your UX Designs demonstrated through quantitative data. Passionate about math, financial literacy, and the arts.
Recently I read a post by a hiring manager who had a single Junior UX spot to fill. She received 700 applications for the role. (Of course I can't find that post to share it now) She discussed the frustration of receiving so many connection requests and questions about the role, and the difficult process of narrowing it down. Some thoughts I had after reading that: • I don't have to be a one in a million designer, just 1 in 700. • 1 in 700 is still pretty challenging. • In a stack of 700 applications (physical or digital) what is the thing that is going to set me apart? • Trying to be the best of 700 applicants is challenging. It's important to allow yourself some grace in the process. • If you're in the 99th percentile (out of 700 in this example), there are still six people as good as you. I don't have answers to these yet, but I'm going to treat it like a problem to be solved. And hopefully some day soon as businesses realize the importance of having designers, that number will not be as daunting.
