Can you guess what’s missing from this 2015 Hartman Family vacation photo? What’s missing is me. Real, in-person, on a vacation with family me. Sadly, I didn’t take time off that week to join my family on vacation so they put a picture of me on a stick and carried “dad” around that week so I could still make the family photos. In 2015 I didn’t know any other way to manage my time so my family vacationed without me while I continued to work. Back then the thought of taking time away from work was too stressful so I just…didn’t. 9 years later, I’m determined to help as many leaders and teams as possible find the right their highest sustainable pace, which includes an important balance of work AND rest.
