Here's why I suggest reconsidering the use of Figma for your portfolio website. Loading times ⏳ play a crucial role. In my recent analysis of 40 portfolio websites, the majority loaded in under 2 seconds, delivering exceptional user experiences. However, portfolios created in Figma exhibited an average loading time of around 20 seconds. In certain cases, they even stretched to 1-2 minutes, despite a 100+ Mbps connection. I'm not discouraging the use of Figma for your portfolio, and I'm open to considering candidates irrespective of the tools they choose. Yet, it's essential to conduct thorough user testing and quality assurance on devices beyond your own. Your goal is to leave a lasting impression in the initial 30 seconds, and a 30-second loading bar isn't an ideal introduction. Take into account the experience you're shaping for your end users. While I'm willing to wait for your portfolio to load, not every recruiter or hiring manager shares the same patience. 😔 #portfolio #portfoliodesign #uidesign
