Today marks a very important day in our journey at Wonder Dynamics. We are extremely excited to share that we are officially joining the Autodesk family, the global leader in design and make technology! We started Wonder Dynamics in 2016 out of pure frustration with how difficult it was to make movies with CGI and VFX elements. Soon after, we stumbled upon some research from the field of robotics and self-driving cars, which led us to discovering the enormous potential that AI would have for storytelling. We knew it was a future we wanted to be a part of. As we started our development, we realized that we were part of a fortunate few who could play a small role in the greater vision that AI could bring - helping artists and dreamers like ourselves realize the dream of making movies for a living – regardless of their location, social status, or budget. This is how Wonder Studio was born. We started working with Autodesk on our Maya integration a while ago, and it quickly became apparent how passionate the company and the whole team were about helping creatives and small teams punch above their weight. Obviously, this immediately resonated with our very own mission, and we realized how much faster we could achieve our ultimate vision with their help. Autodesk has a long history of being a leader in our field and shaping the industry as we know it. For years, it has been empowering artists with accessible solutions that break down barriers to entry, including Maya. Today, there is a misconception that AI is a one-click solution, ignoring and undermining the effort and skills needed from artists. That’s why we are excited to join a company that, like us, at its core supports the iterative nature of 3D, VFX, and storytelling. We put a lot of effort into building an AI tool that does not replace artists, but rather speeds up the production process, makes things more efficient, and helps productions save costs. This is why we’ve always said the video that you get out of Wonder Studio serves as a first VFX pass, not the final shot. The true focus and power of Wonder Studio has always been in the 3D elements and data you get out of it, whether it’s animation data, lighting pass, clean plate, camera track, etc. – with the goal of having full control of each individual element in 3D space, in the software of your choice. We couldn’t be happier that we found a partner in Autodesk that is highly committed to pushing the boundaries of ethical AI and emerging technology in media & entertainment. The vision continues, and we have no plans on slowing down – quite the opposite. With Autodesk’s support and commitment to innovation, we now have the perfect partnership to continue this mission and redefine the narrative of what's achievable in the realm of storytelling. Testing different attempts at stabilization 😅 Similar to the last few tests, this is from an Epic Games Unreal Engine Metahuman input, including multiple ComfyUI GMF nodes, Blackmagic Design Davinci Resolve, and finally Fable Prism. These are all without any comping or final touches, so everything still needs a few additional passes afterwards. I like the hands-off approach to Fable Prism, but ultimately I think Resolve offers the most control in general.
