As some of you might know, I am formally retiring from Moelis today after 41 years on Wall Street, the last 37 having followed beauty and personal care companies I began my journey into the industry when Hicks Waldron was running Avon, when John Smale was CEO of P&G, and a relatively new superstar in the making, Reuben Mark, became CEO of Colgate. It was almost a decade later, when Leonard Lauder finally decided to take public his “small” family business. I have seen so many models, channels, and businesses, develop, fade, and morph. I can honestly say the industry has never been so exciting as it is today. The industry is brilliantly diverse, which aids everyone, particularly consumers. I will continue to follow the industry and help young brands with strategy and help them understand what investors are looking for when raising money or looking to sell. Feel free to contact me if you’d like my thoughts. I want to say thank you to everyone who has made me a better person, and put a smile on my face over the past 41 years.
Congratulations and keep smiling as these decades in beauty leave such great memories, that for the most part will not be duplicated.
I for one am a better person for having known you. The world is a better place with you in it. All the best. You’ll be brilliant at whatever you do.
Congrats. A heck of a career. Legendary within CPG! I remember meeting you back in the early 1990s on the sell side (Susie Belle at LUX!), working together at DB and watching you from afar in banking. Hope we stay in touch.
What an awesome ride. I remember fondly our interaction. I am sure your advise is not only welcomed but also very necessary. Enjoy the next chapter and till our patches cross again.
You are a true legend in the FMCG sector Andrew. It was a pleasure learning from you as an IR newbie at Procter & Gamble and being challenged by you from that point forward. Wishing you all the best in your next chapter and let me know if you are ever in Park City
Best wishes, Andrew! It was a great ride working with you on my first Wall Street job. I truly enjoyed it every bit, and I learned so many things beyond work. You are passionate, generous, and a breath of fresh air in a world full of BS. Enjoy the next phase at your own pace. Congratulations and blessings, my brother!!
So excited for you as you enter this next chapter. Thank you for your friendship and many, many contributions over the past decade. Your journey says it all- no one knows beauty like you do!
Andrew Shore your 41-year journey through Wall Street, tracing the evolution of beauty and personal care giants, reads like an epic adventure! It's inspiring to see the industry landmarks you've witnessed and the shifts you've navigated. Cheers to your incredible odyssey and all the stories you've collected along the way. Here's to new adventures ahead!

10moAndrew, best of luck to you, though I can’t imagine you will ever fully “retire!” I’m not too far behind you!
