Imagine if he really did. When Schär shot, Pickford faked left, but went right - the exact opposite of what the note on the bottle said in the very first line...and Schär scored on Pickford's left side. Therefore, to illustrate the power of data, one should ignore Pickford and highlight that the note suggested the winning goalkeeper strategy for the penalties taken by Schär, Akanji and Shaqiri - 75% of the Swiss penalties.

Remember 2006? At that time the penalty cheat sheet was based on statistics, no one would have confused it with AI.

Kinda “cheap” way to link from this amazing sports moment to (guerilla) market an own product. But there is no doubt about the support function of data in sports and beyond. The smart usage mixed with skills, knowledge, experience, passion, confidence, gut feeling and intuition etc are key.
