I know many of us feel confident in our ability to lead teams as Integrators, but let's be real – sometimes, we hit a roadblock🚧.
We're all dealing with unique individuals and managing different combinations of humans can get messy and unpredictable.
Especially during periods of growth, leading a team can be quite the challenge.
One common challenge that I've encountered, and I've heard peers struggle with too, is when the Visionary dominates conversations 🗣️in L10s and other meetings. It can be quite overwhelming, right?
Here are a few tips to navigate this situation:
1. Get on the same page📑: Utilize your V/I same page meeting to bring awareness of this issue to your Visionary. Open up a dialogue and find ways to address it together.
2. Set and enforce ground rules📋: During your L10 meetings, establish clear rules and guidelines to ensure that everyone gets an equal opportunity to contribute. Create an environment that encourages active participation from all team members.
3. Limit discussion during reporting📊: While reporting is important, it's crucial to strike a balance. Keep the reporting section of your L10 meeting concise, allowing ample time for discussions and problem-solving.
4. Focus on solutions💡: Instead of dwelling on complaints or getting caught up in office politics, shift the focus towards finding solutions. Encourage a positive and solution-oriented mindset within your team.
Remember, it's all about taking small steps and finding effective strategies to overcome challenges together. If you want more insights and practical advice, check out the "Ask the Integrator" series on my YouTube channel.
