Bridging relationships through storytelling. As the Editor and Creative Strategist of The Cameo Chronicles Newsletter / Magazine I get the chance to write with YOU IN FOCUS. I eat exercise for breakfast.

How do you acknowledge people you meet in person and online? In my case, I remember details which later help me paint a bigger picture of the people I meet. And having just returned from a trip to Toronto, I made sure to learn a few things about some of the people I met. One young man left me thinking when he said, “I hope they don’t revitalize the east side too much so I can continue to afford living there.” This picture he painted was vivid and it could well mean that he will have to find more affordable housing elsewhere in the not so distant future. I like traveling and often look for details that can go unnoticed, until we let our curiosity wander. I took note my first night in Toronto of a number of mixed couples who passed me on the streets and also a diverse workforce in the front of the ‘house’ during my stay in what is a popular city. Traveling this time was extra special because I planned on borrowing a few minutes from my dear friend ILIA FRANCIS and instead, enjoyed copious talking, walking, singing and laughing. Visited butterflies and shared meals. This visit had much to do with a mutual desire to foster a stronger professional relationship and honoring our friendship. Most of us know when a personal or business relationship or a friendship is meant to be—in this case, Ilia and I spoke freely about a number of topics. Ilia, it was great to witness first hand the mutual appreciation you and Bobby Umar have for each other and why he came to see you at a moment’s notice. There is no question in my mind that we would meet in person at some point and I thank you for your hospitality and for sharing your family time with me. Then there is Simone Tai, B. Ed., CHRP, for those who are fortunate to know her, she has a unique way of highlighting the country she calls home and her culture. Simone, we will sit down over dumplings at some point. The list of people I look forward to meeting in person keeps growing and I will follow through in time because I feel it is important to nurture relationships in person whenever possible. ///// Images: Ilia and Andrea sitting at Tim Horton’s, a popular Canadian restaurant, enjoying Timbits®️ donut holes and café, Toronto skyline, Sculpture of a head in white ceramic-like material. #networking #linkedin #travel

Amazing that you met up in real life with your LinkedIn buddies! Did you know that Toronto was where the majority of the TV show "Suits" was filmed, even though in the show the setting is actually NYC?

Thanks for sharing this post and we appreciate the showing off of our lovely city of Toronto. It was great to meet you and YES I definitely will go out of my way for friends like ILIA FRANCIS. And given your connection, it's easy to see why. I do love my community at Thought Leadership Branding Club such that whenever they are in town or close by, I do all I can to see them. 🤗

ANDREA M. thanks for your continued friendship! Your open and curious mindset is wonderful, and I know we will meet in-person down the road. Btw, you just showed me a part of Toronto I have yet to experience! That art must be Juan Plena (sp?) whose other work I first saw in Calgary and then Barcelona! I love it. #staycurious #urbanart #social #imissclubhousedays 💝🌺🌟
