It has been wonderful connecting with so many HR friends this week in Atlanta at HR in Hospitality! A couple of takeaways for me: 🔥 (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) DEI is a really hot topic today and highly debated. It is here to stay, different organizations are in different stages of their journey, and rather than having a canned approach, organizations need to turn to their employees and understand their needs. 📖 Leadership development is more important than ever. There are so many demands on your managers and they are the ones that will make or break your initiatives. How can you truly enable and support them (from corporate and property levels) and tell the story of your initiatives, so they dedicate their time to what is important to the company? ❤️ Wellness/mental health - there seem to be so many initiatives, from on-site psychologists, to snacks and open door in the HR office, and unlimited PTO (or even forced PTO). It is important to go back to basics and understand the importance of the human connection - don't be afraid to show yourself as you are and get to know the others, as they are.
