Some of the more sophisticated Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) systems in new cars have the ability to detect pedestrians and autonomously brake when reversing. This feature, known as AEB BACKOVER, contributes to a vehicle's overall safety rating. Ensuring your car is equipped with this advanced technology not only enhances pedestrian safety but also boosts the vehicle's safety credentials, providing peace of mind on the road. #ANCAP #AEB #Crashtests #AEBbackover

There are different types of autonomous emergency braking (AEB) systems in vehicles today. Newer AEB system can now detect pedestrians or cyclists in traffic while reverse emergency braking systems can detect when objects are too close to the vehicle’s rear end. These AEB system can be helpful to prevent potential collisions. But drivers should remain focused while driving and pay attention to their surrounding traffic environment. 🚨Safety needs an improved AEB🚨 Another important Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) development in 2023 is the evaluation of a vehicle’s ability to prevent head-on crashes with oncoming vehicles and when crossing paths at a T-junction. The high approach speed of such scenarios requires, amongst others, sensors with a wide field of view to detect and react over a longer distance. Euro NCAP is a catalyst for continuous safety improvements in passenger vehicles. And as mobility evolves through developments in technology and society, so do our rating requirements. Accurate PNT is essential for autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in vehicles. By coupling satellite communication and other sensor like INS, PNT Module provides position, velocity, and time information, enabling car navigation and ADAS functionality. In automotive, PNT is widely used in navigation systems for precise positioning and route planning, providing optimal routes and real-time traffic information, supporting highway and urban NOA features. ADAS systems also rely on PNT data for lane keeping, lane change assist and automatic emergency braking, improving driving safety and comfort. At CHCNAV, we strive to develop PNT solutions for various platforms, fostering the advancement of autonomous driving and ADAS technologies. #ADAS #auto #automotive #PNT #GNSS #CHCNAV

50% of all automobiles on the road by the year 2030 will be ADAS-enabled. Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) prevent accidents through autonomous driving features, including: - Driver drowsiness detection - Blind spot monitoring - Lane departure warning system These features require a level of glass processing sophistication. Behind this sophistication: Glaston's MATRIX EVO, which uses trailblazing convection preheating and shape control to process even the most complex shapes of glass. Innovation in the automotive industry. Enabled by Glaston. Supplied by APT.

New EU rules around active safety features in new cars came into effect on 7th July underlining crash avoidance as the future of automotive safety. Our own research found that the right combination of ADAS features can reduce motor claims frequency by 30%. Read more on how Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA), Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Driver Drowsiness and Attention Warning (DDAW), and Emergency Lane Keeping Systems (ELKS), now all mandated on new cars across Europe, could help reduce accidents involving vulnerable road users in this Thatcham Research article https://splr.io/6043lySyU #ADAS #ThatchamResearch #LexisNexisRisk

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) have evolved from active cruise control to autonomous driving controls since these features first came to the market in 2006. Many false activation scenarios are focused on one malfunctioning sensor. However, with ADAS, the cause of a false activation is likely more mechanical. Let’s talk about why that is in this Continental Tire Garage Studio video. Watch the entire video here: https://lnkd.in/gYuUfD3c #cars #tires #video #garagelife #tiresafety #tireshop

Predicting the intent of other drivers is one of the most challenging tasks for an autonomous system. Especially when trying to do so on narrow roads with parked cars and delivery trucks. Watch the Nuro Driver confidently manage this exact scenario in Houston, assertively driving ahead of the first vehicle and yielding to the second and third. AI-first autonomy is built at Nuro.
