Today at the LULAC Women’s Conference, I had the honor of joining two remarkable Latinas in public service and law for a panel discussion on education and leadership. We engaged in a meaningful conversation, sharing our personal stories and perspectives while examining the challenges that Latinas face in accessing education and advancement. A key takeaway for me was the power of our collective voices. By surrounding ourselves with other empowering and uplifting voices—such as mentors and supportive communities of Latinas—we amplify our strength and impact. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to be an empowering voice, not only for the Latinas on the panel but also for my daughters. What an honor and privilege it is to have Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as my mission and my daily job. And there’s no better way I could acknowledge International Women’s Day than to be part of the conversation to #inspireinclusion in the workplace. I am so grateful to the Women’s Business Resource Group for creating safe spaces for dialogue and reflection about the importance of gender equity, allyship and inclusion.

Today at pick up time, my daughter’s teacher in Kindergarten was giving parents this handout about the Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) holiday, to read and discuss at home. It was a lovely surprise to see a celebration of my culture acknowledged in such a comprehensive way. This is #inclusioninaction Shoutout to Primrose Schools - especially Primrose School of Rogers, AR for this initiative.

It was an honor to participate as panelist in the event that Tent Partnership for Refugees organized to kick off the Hispanic Mentoring Program. I was so proud to share the actions that support the strong commitment that Tyson Foods has with refugees and immigrants. This program is near and dear to my heart. As a Hispanic myself, it means a lot to also participate as a mentor supporting Hispanic refugees.

I had the wonderful privilege this week to be part of the celebration of LNESC 50th anniversary and being part of the Tyson Foods team that provided a donation the Roadrunner Food Bank in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The impact that these organizations have in the Hispanic community is transformational, as they provide food and education. Connecting with students of Mexican descent gave me the opportunity to reflect on my own journey and identity shift to Hispanic/Latina working mother in corporate America. More than ever I feel proud of my heritage and of what makes us unique and powerful as LatinXs. And finally, what a gift to spend time working with the amazing Paul Davis and Mariah Green, MPA. It’s so wonderful to be part of a team that values my perspectives and my unique self! #inclusioninaction
