Calling all AmeriCorps alumni! Service Year is hosting an opportunity for AmeriCorps alumni to share their stories about bridging divides across lines of difference and fostering positive change. Awardees will receive $1,000 each and recognition at a virtual awards ceremony, through social media, on the Service Year Alliance website, and other public outlets. In recognition of the 30th anniversary of AmeriCorps, the first 30 eligible submissions will also receive a $30 gift card. As our 20th school year winds down, we want to thank you for being a part of this incredible work. Together, we’ve supported 65,000 students this academic year alone! We're a week away from launching the 2024 cohort of Summer Impact Corps! Last year, Debra used her service with Summer Impact Corps to gain experience working with young students as she prepared to become a speech-language pathology assistant. We're almost ready to kick off a season of change with Summer Impact Corps! In 2023, we completed our first ever term of Summer Impact Corps! AmeriCorps members signed up to serve Minnesota communities in a variety of positions across the state. This year, the program has hired over 300 people to join us again and make an impact. Last year, at Spark-Y Youth Action Labs, Isabelle and Walter coordinated STEM-related activities for middle school students in Minneapolis. Check out their story! https://lnkd.in/gW5RXG-r

This part-time, paid intern will work with our marketing and communications team to assist in the creation of graphics for use on the web and social media. Thanks to FOX 9 for highlighting Summer Impact Corps and opportunities to serve! Chue, program director of Summer Impact Corps, stopped by the station to chat about the program last weekend. As part of the program, AmeriCorps members will spend the summer building their skills, experiencing community in new ways, and getting things done for Minnesota. No experience is needed, and members earn $6,600 plus an extra $1,459 for tuition or student loans. Interested candidates should apply by May 8 to begin serving in June 2024.
