Helping retailers and hospitality drive efficiencies through technology and implement solutions to manage every endpoint in their environment. - Strategic Account Manager, TRG
Yesterday was a special day as it marked the golden jubilee of the very first UPC scanned. Can you take a wild guess who this is in the picture below? Here I am 25 years ago embarking on a career in the barcoding industry where early on I consulted and trained customers to accurately print and grade barcodes to ensure they scanned the first attempt! And for those curious minds out there, yes, I started this journey when I was just 12 years old! 😀 #barcode #anniversary
lol what is that boxy machine you are looking at? 😅
Great stuff! Today we take for granted that the barcodes will scan…because of all that work back then.
That's awesome! P.S. - In my opinion, you don't look a day over 11.
Awesome some of us providing comments sold a few Xaminer's back in the day (Bill Barton)
Amy, the devices have changed but you look the same! (sans the puffy shoulder blouse of course 😂 )
this is awesome!
You have changed a bit 🍾
Get right out of town - this is so cool!
Love this! Things have evolved so much.

2wThanks for the nostalgic image Ami. As a fellow alumnus of Stratix I had my first day of training of barcodes by Katherine White on September 10, 2001 using the book Barcode 101 written by Bonney Shuman. Class was abruptly halted the next day . . . but I still have the book.
