In India, #cardiovasculardiseases (CVD) have become the primary cause of mortality. GLOBAL HOSPITALS PRIVATE LIMITED in Parel, Mumbai organized a 1-hour CPR training session at #MatungaPoliceStation for around 25 police officials due to rising #cardiacemergencies. The aim was to equip the police personnel with the skills to #handleemergencies and stress the importance of #CPRtraining. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR is a crucial life-saving technique used to revive someone whose #heart has stopped beating. It involves a combination of chest compressions and #rescue breaths to help circulate oxygenated blood throughout the #body. CPR is typically given in emergencies such as cardiac arrest, drowning, or choking when the person is unresponsive and not breathing normally. Initiating CPR within the first few minutes after cardiac arrest can significantly improve the chances of survival. Learning basic CPR skills can empower individuals to act decisively and make a tangible difference in saving lives. GLOBAL HOSPITALS PRIVATE LIMITED in Mumbai's Parel area have made a significant move by introducing an excellent initiative to address the increasing number of cardiac cases. “Cardiac arrest afflicts a significant portion of the population, and over 90% of those who experience it outside of the hospital tend to lose their precious lives. CPR training during cardiac emergencies is a vital skill that can mean the difference between life and death. It equips individuals with the knowledge and confidence to provide immediate assistance to someone experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest. By learning CPR, one becomes empowered to take decisive action in critical situations, potentially saving the lives of others. Time is of the essence when it comes to assisting in a sudden cardiac arrest, and those trained in CPR are better equipped to act swiftly and decisively. When performed correctly, CPR can double or triple a person's chance of survival during a sudden cardiac arrest. As more people become trained in this life-saving technique, communities can become better equipped to respond effectively to emergencies and take proactive measures to ensure better outcomes for those in need, hence we have started the I 'Mumbai ka Dil, Humara Bharosa' program, a dedicated to equipping every individual with life-saving CPR skills. Our mission is to empower the community with essential knowledge, ensuring readiness to respond effectively during emergencies. Join us in this noble endeavor as we strive to create a safer, more prepared Mumbai for all” said DrSameer Pagad- Senior Consultant Interventional cardiologist “Global Hospital has demonstrated a commitment to being in the forefront of any initiative for public health, exemplified by their proactive approach to addressing global health challenges. By equipping police personnel with CPR skills and knowledge, Global Hospital is fostering a culture of preparedness and collective responsibility towards public health.

Fleming's discovery of penicillin was, in part, a stroke of luck. After returning from a vacation, he noticed that a mold, Penicillium notatum, had contaminated one of his Petri dishes. Instead of discarding the contaminated cultures, Fleming observed that the bacteria surrounding the mold were being destroyed. This chance observation led him to investigate further, ultimately identifying the mold's antibiotic properties. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dYxH9mnQ #healthcare #uknurse #uknursing #uknurses
