For those who couldn’t attend, here are the key takeaways: - Rates on visitor attractions have generally gone up whereas much of the hospitality sector has seen their rates reducing significantly. - Rates based on an April 2021 valuation date are highly subjective, given the attractions sector was still closed. - Indoor attractions and city centre venues slower to recover than most. - If UBR is not frozen for 2024/25, headline liabilities could rise by 6.7%, before reliefs are applied. - Number of opportunities exist to review and challenge 2023 Rateable Values.
