In the following slides, I will delve into the Cache Fusion technology, which was introduced in Oracle 8.1.5. Before this technology, a shared disk was used to synchronize updates across Rac instances. This required one instance to write the updated data block to the storage immediately after updating it in the buffer cache, allowing other instances to read the latest version of the data block from the shared disk. With the introduction of Cache Fusion II (9i) in Oracle RAC Database, coordination and synchronization between the RAC database instances have been significantly improved, eliminating the need for these disk-based synchronizations. #RAC #ORACLEDATABASE #OCP
