The Collective Trauma experienced by the original occupants of this land should never be underestimated. It has been carried through generations. With compassion we should do everything we can to listen and help the healing. Yes is another step in our journey to become a nation that leads rather than follows. If we can put aside ideology, politics, secularism and just act with compassion perhaps we can find a way. It would be interesting to review the arguments put forward as No against those put forward for the Republic, Climate Change, LGBTIQA, and Big Australia. Can we also consider the actors who deliver these messages, are they truly the Voice of all generations and genders? Is this consensus? Do we craft the narritive and question to get a No Change result? Australia is a very young country who has never experienced the suffering, persucution or distruction of the people of Europe, South America, the Middle East, Africa or Asia. The people we ask to join us to create a nation. The only people in our country who have are the Original Custodians. We have a karmic debt to repay. Perhaps the question of whether we truly own anything? Perhaps if we can accept that we are born with no possessions, concepts, shoulds or woulds and that we experience life we can understand those grounded in nature, spirituality and just being. Perhaps the Dream Time can help us grow.
