Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is proposed to be the barcode of the future. At Houston Methodist we have also been leveraging active RFID technology to locate crash carts in real time! Improving safety, reliability, and quality for code response preparedness. Project led by Haley Blanck, PharmD, MS & team, and innovation supported by the ASHP Research Foundation. I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Director of Pharmacy at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital (HMCY)! Houston Methodist recruited me nine years ago in 2015, I was raised up as a leader in our Medical Center Campus, and I am honored to be selected to continue to serve as the Director of Pharmacy at HMCY. I take great pride in being a part of the team opening a "Hospital of the Future" in 2025!
